This video helped me with my problem. I noticed the trigger wasn’t sticking out as much as it used to. Removed the battery and noticed there is a black trigger on the battery itself. I had some left over pvc flooring that’s sticky at the bottom, cut out 2 small pieces in the same shape as the top of the black battery trigger and stuck them on top. Inserted the battery again and can now see the red main trigger was sticking far out like when I first purchased the vacuum. It works without any issues now. No replacement needed. Hope it helps

The cutting out has just started happening to our V11, luckily 2 months before the guarantee expires! I called support, who were asking me to check if any battery lights came on when the cut-out happens. But I don't see any battery lights coming on, or anything on the LED display.

Not much of repair though. You essentially just replaced the broken vacuum cleaner with a new one.
@RyanHolota3 жыл бұрын
That’s true. However, it doesn’t appear that they sell any of the individual parts. It would have been cool to get a 3D scan of the trigger and try having it 3D printed. I’m not sure how strong that would be, but it might be possible to make the new piece a bit stronger.

My v11 cannot stop by itself. I found the issue is actually caused by the loose battery. It stopped when I pushed back the battery. But it broke again when hanging in the charging mount for a while.

Same issue here on the V11. However Dyson refused to send the main body replaceable part due to lack in stock :/ Needless to say my previous V10 showed exactly the same symptoms and was replaced with V11 under warranty. All that being only after 15months from the original purchase. Shame on you Dyson.
@RyanHolota2 ай бұрын
Oh no! That's too bad. They do list the body as a replacement part on the Dyson website, if you're willing to spend that much to repair. It is cheaper than a new one. I notice that some folks are making replacement triggers on Amazon now, but none of them look quite right to me - I'm not sure if they're actually for a V11 or if they are for the V10. The new part (main body) I installed clearly has upgraded parts in it, as the machine has been flawless since the repair. I hope this helps - good luck!

hope someone can help ... I replaced the trigger and after assembly it worked fine, however, it would continue running for few seconds (5-8 seconds) after I let go and also start running on its own without me pressing the trigger. I left it alone and placed it back on to its charger ... 4 hours later, took off the charger, pressed button, vacuum is dead. What can be the problem???
@RyanHolota2 жыл бұрын
Tough to say, but I believe the actual run switch is on the battery. Perhaps it is pinched or damaged there? Have you called Dyson?
@igormord86362 жыл бұрын
never mind ... fixed. Funny, 1 of the 3 screws that holds battery needed to be untighten by just half a turn for it to work properly. Strange. I guess somehow inside it was pushing something else?

I'm sorry, but this unacceptable on Dyson's part. This is so wasteful, time-consuming and bad for the environment. They send you a whole new body part, when in the old days a technician would've just fixed a small part on the existing unit. Dyson suck
@RyanHolota3 жыл бұрын
From a cost perspective, it’s almost certainly cheaper for Dyson to do this than troubleshoot a single part or pay a tech. Environmentally, though, it is wasteful. It’s been a while now, but I *think* they suggested I recycle the old body.
@thadtuiol17173 жыл бұрын
@@RyanHolota I'm old school: You buy quality goods and take good care of them. If some part breaks or wears out, repair it yourself (or have it done by someone who can if you can't) instead of throwing the whole thing away and getting a new one. There is no reason why well made household goods cannot last two or three decades given reasonable care. Sure, good quality costs more up front, but if you are not replacing the item every couple of years you are soon money ahead. I'll clean home tonight with a 40 year old Kenmore vacuum that works just fine. I replaced the motor and cord maybe ten years ago for less than the cost of a cheap vacuum at Walmart. I drive a 34 year old car that I restored instead of buying a new one. I have beautiful Sunbeam Coffeemaster vacuum siphon coffee pots from the 1950s that make wonderful coffee. We use a Farberware electric grill from the 1960s that is as nice as the day my parents bought it. Some of our cookwear is older than I am, high end stainless steel Reverewear, not the crappy aluminum with Teflon coating stuff that wears out and gets tossed. Buy high quality and make your stuff last. In the long run it is much less costly. Basically, screw the IKEA approach to life.
