Itz A Rubix a hand trap is a type of card that activates in the hand in a responsive way. It's not an official term but it's anything like Ash blossom, ghost ogre, droll, etc.

The main phase, rather than battle phase, has become the deciding phase of a duel. No one got rid of Gorz/Trag in MP2 before but now every deck can basically continue their play after the BP and do more stuff.

I won Houston in 2008. It was the set release of Dark Armed Dragon which was heavily favored to win, but the set released Six Samurai United as well and being one of the only duelist who use triple solemn, along side Shien helping me shut down FTK/OTK decks, I managed to narrowly beat out a lot of great duelist.

It’s so weird to hear these kinds of things these days, how yugioh is more about OTKs than anything. I remember as a kid how yugioh started out and even though it was slow compared to modern standards, I got to enjoy my duels because it was just about how decks were used and their level of synergy. And I’m a bit of an old fart for yugioh (only 25), but I still love the fusion summons, ritual summons and playing for fun. Synchro summons I can do, same for xyz summons, but...pendulums and links? That’s foreign to me lol. The last deck I heard of that was used in a tournament often was the Six Samurai deck...yeah, that was a while ago. About a year ago though, my cousin gave me a bunch of cards and some were Kozmotown titles cards. I don’t know if that was used in tournaments but, he told me that the design behind it was a mix of Star Wars and Wizard of Oz, so that was cool to me. I’ll learn how to use link and pendulum monsters but, for me, nothing beats the old school dueling. Where you and your opponent would play for almost an hour and treated it like a chess match and talk about strategy or that miracle draw or how you escaped the brink of death.

Undead Will it requres you to be in a losing state to be playable and at that point there is literally no reason to not just play Evenly Matched and banish his whole field instead of playing 2 beaters. Yes, you might die to damage on board as a difference, but if you let the game state get to that point Gorz is only going to stall 1 turn anyway where Evenly Matched MIGHT swing it.

I remember when Gorz was limited back when I played. Intrigued by this change, along with the current ban list, I tried to play a game on dueling nexus. I went first, made a dark world/danger deck (didn't know about danger cards, but they seemed good for what I was going for). I was otk'd... 3 times in a row. I won't say yugioh is bad or good because I haven't played enough to have a responsible opinion, but damn, it's changed so much.

The Unholy Ghost the problem in my opinion is that turn players turn last way to long. Special summoning after special summoning, after special summoning, extender than special summon some more. I honestly think we need a master rule 5 that limits special summoning to 6 or 7 per turn. Then the game would be more about intelligence and skill versus who can special summon the most during their respective main phase.

Honestly this very issue is what makes me really wonder if the current meta is for me; I understand that there's more deck diversity now thanks to links, and that's cool and all, but it seems to me that what you have now is, basically taking all the decisions you made in 6 or 7 or 8 turns back in the day, and jam packing it into 3 or 4 turns. This means longer card text, more plays being made in one turn, and more Dark Soul type cards with specific timing and activation points that are easy to mess up. It was nice on your first turn to be able to set a Spy, set a Decree, and call it a turn, and then really building up a board the third or fourth turn. I don't know, maybe if I did more tournament grinding I'd feel differently about this, but there's something about one card now doing what 3 cards did in 2010 that sounds a little frustrating.

I still attack with the weakest monster first, out of habit, though if you were playing around Trag, that wasn't necessarily the best sequence. If you want to talk about play habits that date you, though, some people set their backrow, THEN make their plays, and THEN attack. I was always taught to set backrow last, unless you had a good reason for it, so you don't get punished. Also, a slight error here, Gorz wasn't, to my recollection, played in decks that 'didn't run many backrow'. Gorz was played in everything. Set 4, Gadget played Gorz. Gladiator Beasts with War Chariot played Gorz. Gorz was just that good.

Gorz protects all in plays. Backrow protection and with a killer monster field, facing heavy storm, dark hole, giant trunade, then judgment dragon...followed by bls and dad. Gorz saved games.

I remember on dueling book a few months, Me and another dude where winning and where both nearing 1,200 rating (whoever won would hit 1,200) and it was down to the wire, we where 1-1 and I only had 400 lifepoints I attacked with my strongest monster first, Which reduced his life points to 300, And then my opponent dropped Tragodeia with 5 cards in hand, Making it stronger then anything else on my field, I had no way to attack over it so I just stared at the field for like a minute, ended my turn, he drew, immediately went to BP and attacked into my elemental hero sunrise, My other monsters where a 3,800 attack Malicous bane and a Xtra hero dread decimator with 3,300, and I dropped Honest, giving me the 1,200 rating

Nothing happened to Gorz, he isn't real, he's just a card Yugi pulled out of his ass back in Yugioh R, but as for Tragodia, Jaden and Chazz defeated him by Fusing Jaden's Winged Kuriboh and Chazz's Light and Darkness Dragon into Ma'at, Jaden using its effect to bullshit topdeck MST, Sparkman, Ocean, Woodsman, Polymerization, and Miracle Fusion, fusing Ocean and Woodsman into Gaia, halving the attack of Tragodia's Supremacy Sun and add it to Gaia's attack, using Miracle Fusion to fuse Ocean and Woodsman in the Graveyard into Terra Firma, tribute Terra Firma to add its massive attack to Terra Firma, attack Tragodia's Supremacy Sun with Terra Firma, and finally Ma'at attacking Tragoedia directly for game, and then Winged Kuriboh and Light and Darkness Dragon sacrifice themselves to seal Tragoedia away

In Goat Format or even today, if your opponent is worried about saving life points in exchange for goat tokens, its best to attack with your strongest monster first, as to force them to use their Scapegoat immediately allowing your weak monsters to better use their attack to kill a token. Just a thought for when you mentioned attacking with highest monsters last as a sign of experience.

yes, but they have to HAVE scapegoat on the field to play it. Gorz is only summoned to an empty field. Personally, I only play scrub decks with Asura Priest and honest...so I always attacked with anything else first and followed with asura and pitched honest to clear board.
