I just ordered my Kenevo but have to wait 2 weeks because the S5 was out of stock in Sweden. This is to me the most interesting video I have found regarding the Kenevo since I have that coil shock on my YT Capra as well as the Shimano brakes. Looks like I will have to do the same upgrades... Thanks for posting!

Agreed on the rear coil! I had Avalanche Racing build me a custom coil and wow that bike takes “planted” to a new level. So composed over everything. I’ve also added a motor guard, enve x9 bars, revgrips, and hope 155 cranks. There is a noticeable improvement in arm/hand fatigue with the x9 / revgrip combo. Very happy with that. I’ve only ridden the new cranks once but on a very rocky trail with some very steep sections and I didn’t get any pedal strikes. Typically I get a few every time I ride this trail. I’ve been running maxxis double downs - it’s the only tire I’ve tried so far I didn’t quickly flat. I flatted the front butcher going uphill. It was super rocky but c’mon. Same with maxxis exo+. Double downs never. I have 2 dhf’s on now but moving to assegai front dhr ii rear when these are worn. Thinking about 2 things still: Avalanche upgrade for Boxxer (hybrid air/coil spring) and fitting even bigger rotors. I run sram rsc’s with 200s and on long steep dh runs I get arm pump from braking. I wouldn’t trade this bike for anything!!! The biggest surprise was how fun this thing is to rip uphill on singletrack. I ride nearly every ride on full turbo/acceleration/shuttle mode during the fun sections and back it off to save battery in less fun sections if needed. I can do most 1.5 rides in full turbo most of the time like 15-20 miles with 3000-3500’ of climbing. Bigger rides 20-30 miles and 4000’+ of climbing require more battery management.

Thanks so much for that class comment, lots of info there for people changing things on the Kenevo. Very interesting about the grip/bar change helping the arm pump as I definitely find that on longer spins because of the weight of the bike.

The Kenevo Expert is quite the DH sled, I think for its price point its spec is quite low, lots of Ken owners do big upgrades like you have which does make it a pricey machine, having said that if it puts a smile on your face every time you ride then its money well spent....Enjoy
@CatMTBPilot2 жыл бұрын
Ah it’s a great machine altogether. The upgrades can make it pricey thou alright.

Question for you. I saw your video doing the Levo SL comparison w/ the Orbea. Have you thrown a leg over the regular Levo and if so, how would you compare/contrast the SL version? Reason is, I demo'd the SL, but am not able to find a demo Levo. Thanks!
@CatMTBPilot3 жыл бұрын
No unfortunately I haven’t yet but I am hoping to get one soon, 🤞 Specialized Ireland will help me out with a lend of one! 😃
@jroase16583 жыл бұрын
I’ve had both and now riding the Levo Gen 3. I wanted more power and it was the way to go for me. I do miss the poppy SL at times but you need to figure what’s more important. More power or a more flickable playful bike.
@teamlocuras4x42 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing! What size bike are you using? Do you think that Kenevo is not great for narrow enduro paths? I saw some reviews saying that due to the long axles distance is not the best. Are the XT brakes better than Saint?,,, too many questions 🤦🏻♂️
@CatMTBPilot2 жыл бұрын
It’s a size S3. I rode an enduro race on it, there’s a vid if you want to check it out! I don’t see an issue with narrow paths to be honest but that could be the smaller S3. But I suppose it is really built to be a downhill machine. The saints have more stopping power I would say, I haven’t used them myself but I personally love the XTs. 🙌

There's a reason that they changed it to an air shock. The frame snaps the coil shafts due to a design fault, you can't run coils on them. Well you can but it's seriously fucking dangerous. Got the same bike and I had to reluctantly swap my coil for an X2.
@CatMTBPilot2 жыл бұрын
Yes I’ve heard that but thankfully I’ve had no issues.

@@CatMTBPilot It's not a case of just having an inconvenient mechanical issue mate, it's literally the difference between breaking your neck or your back, not to mention how it would utterly fucking destroy your bike. They've literally all been recalled. The only shock that fits them is a specifically designed DPX2. I'm mates with all the guys from Mojo suspension and they all said to me under no circumstances run a coil as it's like playing Russian Roulette - It's your call though innit!

I got to test ride the Kenevo and I just fell in love. I still have my Rallon but love the fact that on the EBike you can just get lap after lap in on the trails in a short space of time and in my view it’s benefited my riding as I’m getting more time on the downhill tougher sections which essentially are the most fun! 😃

I know this little girl who is also disappointed with the lack of colours in the mtb world :( we understand the pink spring. Her specs are very complex to me. It does not have to pink, but must be pretty. The only spec to be pretty, "being pink does not make it pretty" I have a list of other specs that I keep in mind. I wish companies can make coloured warps for there bikes.
@CatMTBPilot3 жыл бұрын
Ah I love that! Love that quote. And she is so right too. That’s why I loved the Orbea Rallon cause the MYO allowed you to pick your own colours. Very important in my view! 😃🙌
