It's up there for me. I'm a songs and songwriter guy. i love all of those artists that aren't wimps (croce and such). My #2 is Tom Waits with "I turn around to look at you, you light a cigarette. i wish i had the guts to bum one, but we've never met and i hope that i don't fall in love with you" from I Hope That I Don't Fall in love with you. #1 is Jeff Buckley's Lover, You Should Have Come Over "It's never over All my blood for the sweetness of her laughter It's never over She is the tear that hangs inside my soul forever". Jeff is what artists wish they were. this singer with a voice so soulful, that could make aaaanyone's souls feel better with even mundane lyrics. He refuses to write songs like that, though, they all are just magical all the way through. Soul, jazz, alternative, rock? It doesn't matter what genre it is, it is wonderful. If he was allowed to come out with more than one album and a few songs after, the whole planet and all humans would have healed. God obviously can't have that because he has to treat us like butt, so he drowned him

I prefer favorites. Best and greatest are really just opinions. However that line grabs the heart and doesn't let go. No one can argue their greatness over time. I owned this album when it came out in another age.I've lived in interesting times by either meaning. We had awesome music and still do.

I had this whole concert and Dylan's Grammy performance of Lovesick on a VH tape recorded from TV. After this they break out a version of Crossroads that has a barnyard bunkhouse groove that only Dylan could conjure up. Clapton loosens up and starts carving out soloes like the master he is.

When you've played and sung the song maybe ten thousand times - and you WROTE IT - you are allowed to fool around with it. Marvelous version. One surprise - how dexterous Dylan is on his fingerboard.

Bob Dylan is an American original. Never was one such before. Never will be one such again. If there is a musical Rushmore, Bob occupies the central position.

The night he performed this song, he'd been singing this diddy for over 30 years! And this performance was over 30 years ago. So its been 60 years since 2012. He must be SICK of it! Lol

I love this. Bob doesn't know/care that he's supposed to play rhythm while Eric does the country licks, so he noodles about over it hahahaha. I love old Bob with all my heart, I love the randomness of his musicianship and the poetic genius but he must be hell to work with.

Dylan (despite his unassuming pose) has always been a gifted and accurate performer. And Clapton can play for hours on these notes without repeating himself. Moreover, they both like to give something good to the audience. Always. So thanks to Bob for his vaguely menacing presence (that has spurred the whole band to give their best, I'm sure...) and for his beautiful song. And to Eric for always having been able to play with the greatest without ever sounding trite (or academic) or less than noticeable....

Great, great performance of this awesome song. Dylan certainly blew his voice out a long time ago, but he managed to sing himself into fair shape here. And one cool thing: Dylan wasn't being a guitar hero, but he was playing a bunch of tasty guitar through almost all of this, with Clapton weaving his way around Dylan's licks. Dylan is definitely the man. My prediction: he'll eventually be acclaimed the great American musician of the twentieth century.
