I am very new to all this and doing the best to help my 13 year old with the amazing hobby …you are outstanding with your communication and explanations. You will never probably understand how much you have helped me today with our new T-28 and NX8. I can’t thank you enough!!

Thanks for taking the time for a very thorough how to video…..especially the roller wheel sound, that thing drives me crazy!!!! I went one step further in your flap setup, I set my flap trim on the Lt trim for takeoff flaps and Rt trim for landing flaps……that way I can also adjust flap throws while flying……..

What a fantastic video, well done. Have just bought a T-28 and an NX8, only my second plane, was dreading setting it all up (via the manual) but you have made the task so much easier. Next time you are in Ireland I will buy you a pint.

By far the best set up video. Only possible thing I would have liked to see is an explanation of the gain controlled by the knob and it's purpose

Thanks for your very detailed and clear instructions. The first instruction that I’m fully able to read on screen. Good and stable camerawork 👍 My T28 1.2m with my NX8 is arriving tomorrow 🙂 I’ll know what to do now. Hope the weather will change soon, because with the current november winds and rains here in Holland, testing her in real flight might have to wait for a few weeks. Many thanks

This was a spectacular video. So much info here. You did an amazing job, bith with camera angle, also, explaining what you were doing. Also, why you are doing what you are doing. For me, that is key. It's hard for me to learn something, if I'm only doing it, because the manual is telling me to do it. I love knowing why it's the way it is. The reverse thrust, was the best explanation I've ever seen. Also, never knew most planes, if not all, could have have that feature. Understandable, there is an inherent risk when using that, especially if its on a plane not designed for it. I have this plane, had it for about 5 years now maybe? I got it, about when they re-released this with the flaps and retracts. I couldn't be happier with this plane. The only downside for me, is that I flew this plane, before I was as experienced as I am. Consequently, have had some less than spectacular landings. Subsequently, this left me than less than optimal performing retracts. Now, they did just release a new 1.2m mustang. I'm curious if the rears, are similar to those. They also released something else that has tricycle landing gear, of similar size that I may be able to replace the retracts. Do you know of an aftermarket replacement that is possibly stronger than the oem gear. That is the only weak point to this plane I have found. This is a solid plane.

Nice. I have an NX10 and I will be setting it for a brand new in the box E-Flight T-28 I just picked up.. Your video is gonna help me alot. I don't want to use the "pre-fabbed" downloadable settings because I wanna learn how to do it myself. Will probably go without the reversing for now. Maybe add that in later. This is my 3rd plane. Graduating from an Apprentice STS and an AeroScout. Can't wait to get this T-28 up in the air. I feel like its my 1st "real" airplane. Appreciated your hard work on the video. Subbed.

In the flap settings the book has you set 2% elevator compensation for each flap setting. If that isn't how you like the trim while flaps are deployed, then you can simply change it there to a different percentage effectively doing the same thing as your flight mode setup. The advantage of using the flight mode setup is that you can dynamically set those elevator trims on the fly for each mode. Just thought I would point that out. Technically, you can also adjust that one setting on the fly as well but I usually just land and set it. Rinse and repeat. If your using flight modes, you don't really need the 2% or any compensation set there since you are doing it via flight modes. BTW, I changed over to your bright green on black and like that a lot. The time remaining tip on the bind button is also a new trick I didn't know about that I'll have to setup on all my other planes now.
@kentuckyoutdoorexplorer5797 Жыл бұрын
I use time remaining on the bind button on every plane. I never like taking my eyes of the plane unless it is a must!

Note on the new planes you do not have to bind in safe anymore you can turn it on and off in forward programming

I have a new t-28 1.2m version 1 I havent flown yet but have upgraded with a stronger front landing gear wheel assembly, a stronger esc and I just added a ar8360t and I also just got a nx8. This video worked great for me! Thank you 👍

Where did you get the gear? Do you have a link? I have this plane as well. Mine is about 5yrs old, I got when they originally released it. Anyway, my nose gear is complete rubbish, I haven't flown it much because when testing it, it fails to deploy about 30% of the time. I have done some pretty hard landings when I first got it. I wasn't obv as experienced as I am now. Point is, I'd love a stronger replacement. Also, if you know of any rear retracts as well, be interested in that too. Thanks, happy flying

Great video,now used it for the second plane...but,is there a way to copy for next,same kinda plane?...and...again,when you put on safe mode,you have the gyro characteristics,but when you put on the as3x mode...nothing happens,so...what is the use of as3x when it has no effects..as you say ,you always fly with as3x...wasn't able to figure that one out yet🤔

Q: will throttle reverse and flaps work with 6 channel transmitter ?
@niclucas17672 жыл бұрын
Very well done, thanks. I don’t know how much difference it makes, but the instructions say to have the d/r and expo on 100% when you set up Safe. Also, is your system of using FLIGHT modes just to test the amount of elevator compensation needed for the two of the three flap positions, so that you can then set them up permanently in the flap menu? I need to start using Flight Modes like you have as I’ve ever known how to use them.
@kentuckyoutdoorexplorer5797 Жыл бұрын
I leave flight modes turned on forever. I can then trim the elevator during flight....and 6 months later I can still adjust the trim if I think it is a little off when the flaps down.

Hi sir good day..I just wanna ask,why you did not set the curves for your plane? I'm a newbie on this hobby. Thanks
@trondaustad78032 жыл бұрын
you make curves because then you have smoother movement in the center of your ruder .aileron and elevator, that makes your flying much smuther
@trondaustad78032 жыл бұрын
if you fell safe you dont need them

Are you sure you have to hold the bind button on the receiver to bind? Don’t you just press it for a couple seconds, release it and it flashes indicating it’s in bind mode? Also surprised you don’t mention with transmitter off once the receiver light is flashing….depress the blind button on the top of the transmitter holding it don while turning it on. To me… Easier than going through the menu. Great vid
@kentuckyoutdoorexplorer57972 жыл бұрын
From my understanding, there are two ways to bind, with the option to use safe and without the option to use safe. If you don't hold in the button, safe will not be an option. I like the option to turn it on if I lose orientation or by accident fly the plane through the sun in the evenings. You can also use a bind plug instead of the button, but it is the opposite. If you bind with the plug in, safe will not be an option. If you wait until the receiver is in bind mode, pull the plug and then bind with transmitter safe will be available. I didn't want to go though all that, i figure it just complicates things.
