Welcome to Fat Guy Flies Rc! Today I am featuring the complete radio setup for the Eflite T-28 1.2m Trojan. We will cover how to bind, Enable Reverse Thrust,Audio Events, Telemetry setup, Timers, Rates and much more.
Now first off let me apologize I only setup for AS3X to be enabled with SAFE being disabled.

AND, you can ADD a catagory of YOUR favorite/most used sounds. I named mine (& u can too😁) 'Greg's most used'. U can add ANY sounds u use frequently. Flaps, motor on/off, yada yada yada.

Hey FG, I believe you're confusing EXPO with FLAP ELEV MIX. Whatever % you may set, it clearly states on pg3 EXPO setting HR=10%, LR=5%. For my rudder, I set 25% EXPO to smooth out taxiing. On pg4 global FLAP/ELEV MIX 2% for takeoff/landing. Also, I assigned my gear channel 5 to my bind-button on switch I. Pretty cool!

No rewatch the video. I M not confused. Looking at the manual as I type this. I followed the manuL exactly. Expo is 10% for hi and 5% low on page 3. Then page 4, 2% down on landing and the off. And I rewatched the video to verify that's what I did. So no confusion. Thanks for watching and responding.

Hey Greg, how do you like the NX series Transmitter's compared to your DX9 black label? I have the NX8 and the NX6. I had the hardest time updated the firmware via USB. Forget about the Wi-Fi. I found the best way to update firmware was using a SD card formatted to FAT32 . To me it's the fastest and the most efficient way to accomplish updating! I also found that warning tone your getting even though you battery is low in voltage I found that in the telemetry menu the first option that says auto config I push that it seems to get rid of the tone. I'm still learning a lot of information on these computerized transmitters. I so use to my 7 channel Futaba's 72mHz radio's that I used to use. It's a big learning curve in comparison! Looking forward to the maiden of this bird! ;)

I think we are all behind the learning curve on these transmitters. next thing you know they will be doing the flying and we will be sitting back and watching...LOL

NX10 is even better than the NX8 i had. The gimbals (sticks) are ridiculously smooooooooth! 🤯 I figured id never be able to tell any difference from the NX8. Buddy got my nx8. He was using the dx9. HE said it was a whole lot better tx than his dx9. (& The NX10 is better than the 8!👍)

Never can tell til u slow down on elevator to flap setups. Seems all birds r different. The ec1500 i had, takeoff was 15% elevator, landing was 34% elevator. Timber x is 5% takeoff, 9% landing 🤯🤪.

yeah that's why I have always said it subjective. People want to know what my mix is but that changes from plane to plane. So many factors, are you using it to just fly slow? are you using it to have a better controlled landing? Do you change to different weights in batteries which really affect cg and therefore affect your flap behavior. This is why I say " This is what worked for ME" but it may not work as well for you or maybe better. I would rather show the process of going through and find the right mix for the pilot rather than just saying " here is the mix you need".

You don't have to be flying to demonstrate the timer. The timer will count down with the motor off and throttle set/moved above/over the throttle percent you programmed. Did you show us how to enable safe? I missed it.

Yeah I know I missed explaining SAFE. But the manual does it just as well. And as far as the timer I forgot about just letting it count down. Thanks again!

Esc setup. 3 completely different ways to setup an avian esc now. The original way, esc programmer, & now that (i learned on the RV-7) way thru the right stick. PICK 1 & stay with it spektrum/horizon! 🤪😛🤯

Sir I just bought the 1.2 T-18 Trojan. Bound up great everything works great. I even put reverse thrust which works as well. Throttle cut works. But if the plane is hooked to battery and I go to function list then to system setup. When I hit the yes button to disable RF plane prop engages about 1/4 the way. Throttle cut is on and works with exception of doing this. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I’m scared to maiden. Thanks for the great videos!!

Common issue, get out of the bad habit (I do it too sometimed) of turning off the rf if the battery is plugged into planes. Just the same rule as you never plug in the battery if the radio is not on the same in reverse. I have even seen esc make the throttle go full speed if the rf is not controlling it. One thing that should help is set you throttle cut to -125% then the esc should not run the motor without the radio on. However you are safe to go fly as it is just don't turn off rf if the battery is still plugged in.

Any tips on how tight or secure to tighten prop hub without stripping threads? Prop wants to come off when I cycle to reverse thrust.

tight enough to hold the model by the prop and shake (GENTLEY) up and down.

You are aware that you wasted a three position switch on Motor Cut, I hope you changed it to a two position switch.

I have since started using H which is a 2 position. On my first transmitter I used along time ago the F position switch is where the throttle cut was so that why I do that. But I have since stopped it there.
