E-flite Cherokee 1.3m BNF Basic - FUN IN THE SUN!

Having some Fun in the Sun with my E-flite Cherokee 1.3m out at Calico Dry Lake!
This is a really nicely done foam version of the general aviation classic from Piper. I think Horizon really did a great job capturing the looks, and flying quality of this mild mannered airplane.

Cool flying, John... having fun in the ultimate RC playground. Interesting what you were saying about stick grip; I thumb pinch with my right stick and use thumb on the left.

Hiya Gina! Glad you enjoyed the show, figured you might like it given your affinity for your OG Cherokee. Interesting about your style of stick control. It seems I only use the thumb/pinch on a few planes, mostly slower civilian models. Otherwise, I'm all thumbs! Interesting that you use one on the right stick, and a different one on the left. Hey, whatever you are comfortable with! Keep 'em flying my friend!

Love my Cherokee. Great Sunday flyer. Love the shock absorbing nose gear. My landings aren't always as greasy as yours! LOL

Great video! The desert is an awesome location to fly. I wish I had one that open. I love my Cherokee. I have some trouble with CG as the battery seems to be too far back with a 3200mAh or larger. I only get one strap on the battery. The 2200mAh sit well at the front of the tray and catch both straps. But it still flies well with any of them.

After years n years of flying my original 1.3 Cherokee ive come to the conclusion that it lands a 100 times better with No Flaps that with half or full flaps. the plane slows down very well anyway on its own.

I think you're right James, that big fat wing slows down nicely on it's own once you come out of the power on approach. Blue skies my friend!

@@JustwingitRC Love your video clips John especially your varied desert locations for flying. that dry lake bed would be a perfect place to land high speed edf jets on but im thinking your not a edf guy and im not usually cause im always running out of runway with those things Cheers Buddy

Bonjour Stéphane ! Cette vidéo a été tournée dans le haut désert du sud de la Californie, appelé « désert de Mojave ». À peu près à mi-chemin entre Los Angeles et Las Vegas. C'est beau et grand ouvert, parfait pour le vol RC ! Bonne chance à toi mon ami et merci pour ton enregistrement !
