@BoB The Movie Guy You need to trim it in order to have a level flight when you let go the sticks. You need to trim up the elevator trim wich is beside the right stick if you are on Mode 2 (elevator on right stick and aileron, rudder and throttle on left stick). If you trim it down beside the right stick it will raise the lift even more so you got to trim it up in order to lower the lift and a have a level flight. Hope I did explain it enough for you to understand.
@N2009D4 жыл бұрын
@BoB The Movie Guy One thing to consider is the normal speed you fly your plane at. Let's say you like to fly it at 50% throttle then before trimming the elevator you need to get to that speed by applying 50% throttle and then trim the elevator. The reason is that some planes espacially trainer planes have the main wing designed so that when you apply more throttle it will tend to climb. Check this video for elevator trim kzbin.info/www/bejne/jaGuiHp8gMeDZ5I trimming Up is for pitch down the plane and trimming down is to pitch up the plane.

I bought this plane , did 6 hours on the flite simulator , i should start out saying that i have never flown before so with that said after the six hours and a charged battery i took to the air field , the wind was blowing so i already thinking this is a bad idea, but i nosed it to the wind in beginner mode full on throttle and wow! i was flying like you see on this video! truly amazing product and presented in a way a beginner can accomplish this , i am super happy and need an extrsa battery , also i took off and landed 8 times thats what i wanted to practice so i knew i could get it back to the run way and the last flight the glue that holds on the front wheel let go and the gear fell off, other than that its home ready for a new flight after i glued the landing plate form back on and remounted the landing gear, what a great plane , this was my first ever flight !

I have watched several videos of this plane and after watching decided that i was going to take the plunge and buy this as my first EDF plane. I would consider myself an intermediate pilot, and never flow jets. I am convinced after watching numerous videos that I can handle this plane with no problem. Thanks guys for posting, i do like to see what this plane is capable of once you have experience with it.

This is the real deal, word of advice, get the RTF version, many extras and worth the price. Safe and AS3X are a Godsend, I'm up to 5 flights without a serious issue. Putting hash marks in the plane for each flight, I will see how long it goes. First landing on the grass bent my nose gear and snapped the plastic clevis (parts backordered) I took off the landing gear and hand launched, landed on the grass. I'm and old CL Combat flyer, we always hand launched. I bought the PNP version from a friend, had to buy the transmitter DXs 100 bucks, batteries 150 bucks, upgraded charger 90 bucks, but no real flight software and dongle that is included with the RTF. Hindsight is 20-20........ Keep supporting the RC Saylors, subscribe and hit that like button!!!!!!

Hey guys, just at note to let you know the effect of your video. My buddy Tom Kowasky and I watched your first video, and were talking about it almost immediately. We are both intermediate RC nuts.He has been flying Delta Rays and quads for years; I've been flying quads, but am now venturing into planes this season. I choose the Delta One , a UMX F-27, and the Cub Scout V2 as my beginner planes. No luck with the Cub Scout, but loving the F-27 and Delta One. Anyway, as soon as we heard about this jet, we both wanted one, BAD !!! Tom is asking our local Horizon dealer to bring in a couple. That is the effect of these videos, I wish you we not so good at them, my bank account is not enjoying this ( but I sure am!!) Thanks for the continued coverage, if I get good enough, it's good to know I can go 4S !!

Just FYI. The same battery that fits the E-Flite EC-1500 Twin 14.8V 5000mAh 4S will fit. You just shave a little off the bottom of the cockpit canopy and get a pretty nice boost to flight time.

So I'm a newbie pilot, I've been flying the umx Pitts. It's beat up but still flies. Then made a mistake thinking I was ready to upgrade and I wanted a jet. So I got the umx flight A10. After 3 attempts the plane no longer flies, so went back to flying the Pitts. I've been watching this channel for awhile and been keeping an eye on beginner models. This trainer jet I thought for sure would be a good start to get back into jets. So I got one and took it out for first flight this morning. I'm in Kansas so wind sucks, but today we only hv 6 mph winds with 10 mph gusts. I'm not sure what happened but I had it in the air, of course in beginner mode, and I couldn't get it to come back, should hv I went into intermediate where I'd hv more control, I'm not sure, but not happy that I just lost a brand new 500 dollar investment. This sucks. If anyone has a used one in good shape that they are willing to let go of please let me know. Tu

Not sure I could describe it in a way that makes more sense, but you can check it out here: www.horizonhobby.com/product/ws2000-wireless-simulator-usb-dongle/SPMWS2000.html It plugs into a USB port of a computer and relays signals between the transmitter and computer since the latter two aren’t able to communicate with each other directly.

Some good flying there Nate. So for a beginner, beginner first plane/jet would you recommend this jet over a prop plane. It seems (as far as I can recall) this jet has a couple of extra safety features over the beginner prop planes. Your the expert so wadda ya say. This or something else for a beginner's, beginner.🤔🤔😏😏. 👁 await your words of wisdom, with input from your knowledgeable other half. Hi Abby. ⚓⚓👍💝👍💘👍⚓⚓.
@TheRcSaylors4 жыл бұрын
I'd say this over a traditional prop plane for a couple reasons. The main reason is because you can't get your fingers caught in the prop on this one, and the prop can't break on the ground on this one. An amazing set up for sure 👍😁🛩😎⚓
@chadpollman79704 жыл бұрын
I guess it depends on what you have in mind for a prop plane. For example, a Champ or AeroScout is far less capable of doing any harm if the situation gets out of hand, and is perfectly happy to cruise around in a smaller area. I can’t think of a comparably-spec’d EDF trainer. A larger prop plane gives up a lot of that “small fry” advantage in safety and minimum comfortable field size, though at least a pusher prop design (something like a Bix 3?) is only a little less guarded than an EDF impeller. In principle, the prop retains a low-speed advantage over the EDF; that’s aerodynamics 101. Agreed that a power-on prop out front is more of a hazard than the EDF; either way, the blunter and softer the nose, the better. I can’t think of any reason _fundamental to the jet itself_ that qualifies the Habu as a _better_ first trainer model. (Flight sims, smart electronics, etc. are not exclusive to the Habu.) Quite the opposite: I think there are plenty of other models that are better first trainers, and even some that can progress the pilot’s skills beyond what the Habu is capable of. I cringe when the Habu is marketed at the new pilot who simply refuses to learn the basics on a less thrill-promising model. The experienced guys immediately recognize how bad the “thrill junkie” attitude is, and the near certainty of it leading/escalating to trouble. Technology is a lousy band-aid for bad attitudes. Where I think the Habu shines is as an advanced trainer for someone who has already developed their basic skills and wants a helping hand while stepping up to the intermediate level. Good attitude + technology = even better results. 😁

@@shattablaze just ran a two-in-one connector that's pretty much it. Now they are parallel batteries tend to charge and fly longer when the individual cells or multiple other than running a 5000

I bought one of these and haven’t flown it yet. I would like to see a video on trim I heard you mention. Weather is why I haven’t flown yet. Worried about snow.

Have you had an opportunity to fly your plane yet!? I flew my maiden successfully yesterday! It was amazing!

Does the radio let you know how much flight time you have? Nevermind just rewatched video, it does

I do apologise I went from your first video on the plain and skipping to this one with the 4s

Attention! The Habu STS is not necessarily a beginner plane. I been flying this plane now for several months. It lands fast. It can fly very fast on 4s And with safe mode on, you better have a large area to fly and turn around with no obstacles anywhere in sight or you will crash. Just a heads up.

I would fly it on 3 cell when just learning, as this would keep the plane from going to fast and could be lighter allowing for slower speeds to land .

I do not disagree with this statement. As a beginner rc pilot, this is my fist aircraft and I would have to say that is my only complaint. But, I put in a fair amount of time on the included simulator and was flying on expert my maiden flight. It is still a jet, so it will still need the same aspects of a jet to fly... Including the high speed landings. Thankfully, they offer the landing gear for only $10 online... Rather not talk about how I know. Well, actually, high speed landing says most of it... Loss of lift due to the wind dying and not having it at a high enough speed. It was my fault, things like this happen.

Any chance you can fly the Habu on your DX8/9 transmitter? I'd love to see what the battery voltage alarm and other telemetry differences are in case I don't want to use the DXS. It seems like a great training transmitter. But as you advance through intermediate, even a beginner might want to scrap that transmitter on the way to Experienced mode.

Any recommendations on other brands of smart batteries that would work in this plane?
