SWS Vs Super Timber would make for some decent content. But, in the Bush flying realm, I'd prefer a Draco Vs SWS edition. The similarities on paper might be erased, once they're out in the "wild" 😊 This bird is right next to Draco on my Mt. Rushmore of RC planes. Until I talk the wife into moving to, or building a bigger house, I'm flying 2m planes vicariously through you and Brian P. 😊 Awesome content, Adam. Another stellar job on the soul stealer, Heidi 👍
@ModelAV8RChannel2 ай бұрын
Thanks Al! We appreciate you bro. I can already tell you...as you know in my mind Draco is an awesome scale bush plane, but flying the SWS slow is much easier. Draco will do it, but you have to be on your set up and flying game to make that happen. I'm with you though, I'm super curious how the SWS will do bush flying with better tires.
@AL-RCjunkie2 ай бұрын
@@ModelAV8RChannel I get why manufacturers are reluctant to slap squishy tires on all of these models. There's such a high probability for softer tires to become distorted from sitting for a while or not holding up in severe temps. I've replaced wheels/tires on just about every model crammed into my hangar, though. Even the little FMS 800mm warbirds. #gearmatters ☺ 👍
@ModelAV8RChannel2 ай бұрын
You're right Al. Its also that they (they being the factories in China) already have so many of the hard tires on hand they've already paid for, and they know as mods go...tires are easy and cheap to replace for the end user if they want.

When you do reviews would you consider measuring stall speed and touchdown speed?
@ModelAV8RChannel2 ай бұрын
We have no way to do that with all the planes we review. Since true airspeed isn't a telemetry option that comes with most airplanes and it is a rarely bought addition... the vast majority of RC pilots won't have a way to tell speed on their airplane anyway, so it really doesn't matter. We do stall tests on reviews, and you can see it touch down. Eyeballing that will have to do.

Very nice to see a follow up on a beautiful flying aircraft. I presume this all was on 6S? Does it have a tow coupling? It would be perfect for that. The only only niggle I'd have is those horrible sounding tyres. Apart from the jet guys, does nobody make ball raced hubs?
@ModelAV8RChannel2 ай бұрын
Yes 6s. That is optimum power for it. No, no tow coupling, but that is a mod that could be made with some modelling. It isn't the tires making the noise really, it is the stiff gear that is attached to a balsa frame. Softer tires may make a small difference, but it will always make noise. Watch our Hangar 9 15cc Carbon Cub (Flying Cowboys) video. Soft tires...still noisy.

Adam fantastic update and flying. If I didn’t have the Valiant 10cc flying so well and now the Super T. I’d have the Big Timbo. Are the Big Draco tires softer than the SWS tires? Jeff in LA USA
@ModelAV8RChannel2 ай бұрын
Thanks Jeff! The Draco tires are about the same as far as stiffness.
@matthewsilicki60912 ай бұрын
I got both. I’d say the valiant is floatier and bounces less but the SWS is way more aerobatic. Super timber tires work well I’ll be trying 5” kavans soon. Like the SWS best
@Rocket_Prophet2 ай бұрын
what kind of "softer tire" would you choose to go to?
@ModelAV8RChannel2 ай бұрын
Either the Super Timber Tires or maybe Du Bro Big Wheels 4 1/2 in. They are so heavy though. Not sure yet, may try both.
@5280Recreation18 күн бұрын
Kavan 150mm are outstanding and VERY light.
@timothygiggey16102 ай бұрын
With all due respect, why didn't they use the same tail wheel assembly or a similar one that they have on the Super Timber. That wire tail wheel strut is too weak to hold up for some of us
@ModelAV8RChannel2 ай бұрын
Not sure, but the SWS has a hard brace that the wire runs through that is attached to the fuse with screws...not just a wire attached to the rudder (just like a Du Bro assembly, very common). So with that in mind, with all due respect...if you're breaking that, then it could be that either you're flying out of a ridiculously rough field or your takeoff/landing skills might need improvement.
