Nice job. I flew my Timber X today. I turned off the stability/beginner mode to give the plane enough punch to take off, then I turned stability back on as soon as I got in the air. The plane is very squirly so give yourself some altitude to test it out. I'm going to increase my rates to make it less responsive. Great video from your son.

Yes it wasn't ideal but we got the job done. Much more fun now she can stretch her legs down the flying field...

Good to read further down that you've got her trimmed and flying good. where did your CG wind up. Early on in the release 42mm, from the leading edge, was recommended CG point and now 56mm is the recommendation. The young fellow did a very good job filming. I also got a chuckle out of one of his comments.

I have 2 UMX Turbo Timbers and love them. Couple of my friends have them as well and by far the most used planes. They take a beating and just keep going. We have a blast flying them on windy days and you can surf the wind and sometimes get the plane to fly backwards. Once I destroy one of my UMX Timbers, I'm gonna get the Timber X.

In safe mode, trims do very little to nothing. If you have made a big trim change in safe mode, it will be very out of trim when you turn safe mode off. Only adjust trims with safe mode off and you will have better control.

Skip the low flight takeoff and landings and keep crashing it.......take it up and trim it out first and get a fel for it then bring it lower....cheers

Hey Tory, thanks for the tips. I've flown it a bunch now and it flies great. I don't fanny about with it on the grass now, it just gets a good chuck and she's away 👍

I also hate crowds. Even at the club field sometimes I wait until the crowd thins out to fly. Once I get more comfortable with my planes, I'm sure I'll be fine. The UMX Timber X is a blast once you get the CG correct and trim it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2S6c6Frn6-nqqs

Yeah i hear you - with a new plane it could go anywhere on it's maiden, particularly with me flying it 😆 This hobby does tend to attract crowds in public spaces doesn't it. That's a nice flying field you have there, I bet those trees have taken some victims !

@@TotalRCOfficial Just about weekly. 🤣 There are definitely parts out there from various planes at any given time. I choose to go straight into the field so it's easier to find and recover the parts! Luckily only the Aeroscout has been the only victim and she's still flying great!

Der Kameramann würde mit Sicherheit besser fliegen. Warum auf hohem Gras starten??? Schmeißen und fertig. Warum Fliegen sie nicht auf Höhe und trimmen den Flieger??? Mit Save kann ihn jeder Fliegen. Ohne Save ist die Timber X sehr unruhig. Aber auch ein Toller kleiner Kunstflug Flieger.

In an ideal world I would have tried this from short grass, and in a bigger area but this was the best I had at the time. It had to do! I've since had more successful flights - all good 👍
