Hey mate where does the black wire with the little cap on top of it get wired too? It’s the only wire that come out of the actual power board. It’s a single strand. I’ve got mine all powered up and what and remotes programmed but just won’t open or close with remote

Nice gate! Thanks for posting! I had to make a video of the bracket I had to create because my fence post is a large 4" diameter one, and it had to be welded because the U-bolt wouldn't have been large enough in diameter. Hope you'll check it out!

Great. But are there ones that go alittle faster? Or can you make this go a tiny bit faster by chance?
@JonBOY26
@JonBOY26 Жыл бұрын
At the fastest speed, the gates take 15 sec to fully open and then another 15 sec to fully close.

Can you make this smart wifi enabled to where you could close and open on your phone from far away? If not, anyone have any suggestions on how to do that? Thanks!

Hey mate, any chance of putting up a video on how to program a new remote? I’ve got the same system but seems like the remotes aren’t compatible...
@JonBOY26
@JonBOY26 3 жыл бұрын
My understanding is that programming a new remote is extremely tricky, and may not even be possible with publicly available info. Check out the forum thread on whirlpool for more info. forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/9p8yxr49

Hey bud, thanks for the video install looks mint. We’re you able to program the end point for open and close? Similar to upper and lower limits for a garage door?
@JonBOY26
@JonBOY26 Жыл бұрын
Hey mate. No, I don't believe you can adjust the end point. There's no mention of setting the end point in the operation manual, so as far as I can see they only stop at either full extension or full retraction.

@@JonBOY26thanks for the reply mate, they included a rubber stopper to mount at the close point, so I’ve adjusted it to open to 100 degrees then close up against the stopper. Not bad for the price point, thanks again for your help!

John, how did you decide what angle to put the Rear Bracket Fixed Plate. I see yours is not at 90 degrees. Is that so it opens wider?
@JonBOY26
@JonBOY26 3 жыл бұрын
Since the length of the extended actuator arm is close to the length of each gate, we had to angle the fixed bracket back somewhat. We did some trial and error by attaching the bracket at different locations on the gates (ie closer or further away from the ends of each gate) and then seeing what works best. When we had the fixed brackets angled back even further the gates didn't open smoothly - they bucked a bit. But yes, I believe having the fixed brackets angled back does translate into the gates opening further than they would if they were protruded perpendicular to the fence, so this gave the widest opening with smooth operation. The gates have since survived being backed into by an old guy in a ute, although the alignment is now not so good.

@@JonBOY26 Hey mate. Thank you for your prompt reply. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of a wire gate and the ability to change positions. I have a solid Colour Bond fence and double gate and I don't want to drill heaps of holes. I have decided to just go 90degrees and only have to drill the once. Thoughts?
@JonBOY26
@JonBOY26 3 жыл бұрын
@@50CALSYRINGE 90 degrees is the safe bet and is what we would have gone for if we didn't have the flexibility afforded by the round pole and U-bolts. Worst case scenario, if you ever needed to move the actuator out wider, you could just get some galvanised sheet and make custom mounting brackets that would allow you to adjust the position of the actuators while keeping the same drill holes. Make sure you don't lose any remotes as it doesn't seem to be possible to get more or program replacements!

You calculate the geometry by the length of stroke of the motor. For example if the motor has 400mm stroke, to get 90 degrees you would mount your brackets 200mm out and 200mm across from the centre of the hinge point. You should always waste some of that stroke and have the gate hit stops in both opening and closing positions as this locks up the gearbox and stops the gate flapping in the breeze.

How did you get them to open so quickly
@JonBOY26
@JonBOY26 2 жыл бұрын
From memory there's a setting to adjust the opening speed. Have to open up the control box to make the settings change. Set the "running time" to 33s. It's on page 19 of the manual. www.datastreamserver.com/manuals/GOPDSNSIMA148-manual.pdf

Hey mate do they hold the gate firmly shut ?
@JonBOY26
@JonBOY26 3 жыл бұрын
They have a decent amount of resistance in both directions. There is a small amount of play but so far they have been firm enough to keep a muscled little staffy (dog) contained. I've seen people walk up them and go to push them open (not realising they are motorised), only to bump into the gates when they wouldn't budge.

Through eBay. See the link I provided. There are different versions, so you don't need to spend extra on solar power and battery if you can access electricity.
