As a Chinese, I hope India can play a game with Indian cultural background. It's very uncomfortable that when I want to play games with an Arab cultural background, I can only choose the Assassin's Creed and Persian Prince series games produced by UBI in France. I hope to have a large-scale AAA game, created by Indian game companies and production personnel, featuring India's cultural history.

To develop esports players, the first step is to enable them to use esports as a source of livelihood. In China and South Korea, there are many manufacturers of computer equipment and gaming hardware who provide financial sponsorship to esports players. When these players participate in competitions, they can advertise for these manufacturers, forming a market closed loop between the organizers, participating players, and equipment providers. But I haven't found any hardware manufacturers in India, let alone whether Indian esports players can rely solely on the electronic economy to live a decent life without having to engage in other jobs to increase their income. The second obstacle to the development of esports in India, in my opinion, is the price of a high-performance esports device, such as a good computer that costs around $2000. In the United States, it may only take an average person to work for half a month, in China it may take a month, and in India, how long does it take for a working class to work for $2000? So we still need to increase people's income so that they can afford the cost of buying equipment.

Indian Call of Duty Mobile Esports Team GodLike reached the finals of World Championship 2023 held in US in 2023 where the prize pool was $ 1,000,000 dollars and they pocketed $ 170,000 dollars after becoming the runners up. A feat never attained by any Esports Team from India. But many are not aware of it coz, most indian players are mobile gamers and they are fixated on just two mobile games: bgmi and freefire. Till the time the players do not become more mature and dwelve in other games including pc games, India becoming an Esports Powerhouse is a long way to go not to mention the insane GST on gaming which has ruined Indian Gaming because of Govt. lack of vision for Esports and their greed of just taking their cut via heavily taxing the gaming industry in India.
@cat11723 ай бұрын
Electronic sports include many types. I see that Indians only like FPS. However, similar to fighting games, strategy games, and card games, it seems that not many people in India like them. Another reason (if I'm wrong, please correct me) is that India doesn't seem to have any large manufacturers of external computer hardware devices, such as game controllers, game keyboards, computer monitors, etc. These large hardware companies often hire outstanding esports players as spokespersons, so these esports players can support themselves and live well just by training these electronic games, rather than relying solely on the prize money obtained after winning the competition, which is very competitive and difficult. In other words, if an esports player wants to win the competition, they must not participate in ordinary traditional work to survive, which requires sponsors. I think this is also why only South Korea, China, and Japan are able to win in the field of esports in Asia, because they all have computer hardware equipment manufacturers who can sponsor players. In addition, training is very, very hard. Think about it, sitting in front of a computer and working continuously for three months, 8 hours a day, constantly moving the mouse and keyboard, your wrist will suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome. When it hurts, you can't even pick up a glass with one hand. The athlete I know who practices King of Fighter even had surgery to cut off a nerve responsible for pain sensation in the wrist to get rid of this pain.

Happy to see Palki do a report on a topic I'm passionate about. India has a long way to go in terms of gaming in general, let alone ESPORTS. When it comes to online games, the numbers are not there. If you see games like World of Warcraft, number of Indians are still wanting. While we can see some of these translate towards League of Legends, Valorant, Destiny 2 and Warframe - when compared to rest of the world, we are still found wanting. Its due to these issues even established streamers like RAKAZONE gaming sometimes tend to avoid playing some games on stream. Once the society realizes its okay to game while pursuing education, an ecosystem will start building and a case for representation for Indians in online games followed by ESPORTS.

Unless there are some big studios hiring and making games in India, forget about Indian games, the pay for artists is abysmally low in India, in southern part the pay is even lower, they expect you to work for them day in and out on a meager 20~30k, frigging exploiters.

Lol Indian Gaming Community is still very immature, the audience also doesn't have taste. Gaming is still considered just a childish thing in India. The few good players who try to pursue it as a career, they don't get to show their talent bcoz there aren't enough opportunity. Mobile & emulator gaming runied the gaming community in India.
