It would have been awesome if when Elliott came back to E.T., E.T had said “I love you too, Elliott”. Elliott never said “I love you” to anyone else. Only to E.T. I like to think that at the end of the movie when the spaceship took off, Elliott said in his mind “Thank You for everything E.T! My heart is full, and I love you more than you know!”

It's a perfect movie. It's okay to admit it. It's okay to acknowledge perfection when you see it. When you lay eyes upon Conversione di San Paolo, it's fine to admit that it's a perfect painting. When you bite into an Argentinian ribeye cooked for three hours on an asado, it's okay to concede that it's a perfect dish. When you watch E.T., by all means, turn to your wife and say, "This is a perfect movie." Because it is! It totally is. Never let the pathetic jaded politics of postmodern American pop culture hold you back from admitting and admiring perfection when you see it.

Easy to miss but when the scientists were talking about ET when viewing his vitals they said he had 6 nucleotides instead of 4 like we have so when he was eating earth food he wasn’t gaining the right amount of nutrients that and ET’s race is hive minded when they left ET was cut of from the hive mind and was already waning and formed a sort of hive connection with Eliot to slow the process and is why Eliot gets sick and refers to himself and ET as “we” but as ET got more sick he severed the connection not wanting Eliot to die as well and why Eliot gets healthy so quick, luckily for ET his people came back and the hive mind was reconnected allowing him to be revived

Why was I not moved by the movie ? Sure, it wasn't bad but...why was it not memorable ? And before you ask any questions regarding my emotional capacity... Ever since I watched "AlegriA" from "Kagegurui", all I can imagine is a fanfic scenario in which a Godlike/Acid trip alien similar to Yumeko uses the E.T's connection to Elliot to turn him into an evolved human form considered beautiful and perfect, destroying the alien and his companions in the proccess, as they rejected their transformation the first time the Godlike beings visited their homeworld. Oh ! And I love bittersweet endings.

ET could only stand the Earths Atmosphere for so long b4 it eventually made him sick. His home planet is clearly very cold with a a thin atmosphere made mostly of frozen nitrogen gas. Seeing that ET still bcms vulnerable to Earths atmosphere tells me that his species has not explored space & other worlds long enough to evolve to the point that they can easily adopt to any planet, tho they ARE close. I'd say his species has been exploring space for atleast 300 generations.
