Great video. However if you wear glasses, Remer to remove them before you take your picture. I had several attempts and they even suggested that I would have to do it another way. Praise God I had the same information on my laptop and my phone. I returned to my phone where I had the notification and started from there after the trials on my laptop. It worked.

Thanks for the detailed information. I have two questions here. We have BRPs expiring 2026. 1) I’m the main visa holder and received the email for e-visa. Dependents (son and wife) does not have email in home office records because I was adding them into my visa application. May I still apply now for all dependents without getting email individually for them? 2) system ask for the expiration date of BRP. Should we add the real date of Dec 2024?

This is much more informative than other videos that are full of waffle and buzz-words ; although evisa will be easier for UK Border Control , I believe it will cause problems at , for example , Bangkok airport where passengers will have to be fluent enough and IT savvy enough to show a share code , rather than simply showing a BRP which they keep with their passport.

Thanks for making this video. Im having trouble. I scanned the qr code and it says invalid and i need a second qr code. I used no codes to get the app. I downloaded directly to the phone after i checked my email on yhe computer and signed in the UKVI account. I called the help desk for home office the only option was to travel 40 miles to the embassy to do it there. I dont know what to do there is literally one qr code it says to scan then it says invalid even though its on their page.

One can also register for evisa without necessarily waiting for email from home office. As long as you have a valid stay permit.

If you struggle to scan your document and get frustrated, there is an option to skip and that allows you to manually enter the details from your BRP on to the form..

Eihh it’s like u telling my story oo when I was doing mine. The chances and the picture taking and passing your fone over the card to read the chip wahala 😊. It was annoying papa. I just applied for my skilled worker visa, so when they sent me the email to say it has been successful, they also included my eVisa. I was confused at first with the new information saying they will send a different email but watching this video, when I clicked on the link in the email, my details popped up, same as yours.. immigration status and all. So I think that they are doing things new. If you just applied for a visa, the eVisa link would come together with your email saying your application is successful. I stand to be corrected anyways.

Funny enough, I got my card slightly bitten by son, so the chip captioning didn't work, that's why I have just had to post my brp to the home office. I did that exactly a week as I type now(midday on 16th of April) I do not know how long it will take to get my permanent residence processed 🤞
