Dynamite fishing causes serious problems. It harms coral reefs, reduces fish numbers, impacts coastal communities and small fisheries and hurts tourism. The Langa Langa Lagoon in the Solomon Islands is known for making traditional shell money, which is important for local customs like weddings and resolving conflicts. Jeremy Gwao talks with villagers in the Langalanga Lagoon in the first part of a series by Tavuli News on dynamite fishing.
