Ahoy legends, This week Cade and I are out at the Swain Reef Group, A reef fishing paradise! We'd just finished an awesome morning chasing GT's and thought we'd sneak up on to some flats for a quick fish before lunch! I'm sure glad we did!!

Nice vid Sammy, I am heading out on Kanimbla at start of Dec. Hope to get some flats fishing in myself. I mainly bait fish when on charters on the Goldie so it will be a new experience for me for sure.

Why aren't you throwing plastics on the flats instead? Losing stickbaits like that seems pricey. Are they way more effective or something?

You're right, they do work. But sometimes the suspending/floating sticks work well too. Jig heads with heavy gauge hooks can get hung up on the reef too easily.
