Hello :)
My name is Charlotte, and I am the maker, knitter, and individual behind "Every Stitch Counts", based out of Washington state. On this channel I primarily make knitting podcasts for my other fiber and handmade loving folks. I talk mostly about what I have finished, what I've been working on, what I plan to be working on and any other crafty or hobby driven en-devour I get myself up to! Sometimes, I also make vlogs, other crafty and hobby related content that I find myself getting up to!
I hope you enjoy this podcast. I talk a lot about my Talvinen sweater and a very exciting, first time expereince of begining a test knit. Stay tuned at the end for some of my favorite scene from my time in Eastern Washington :)
Until next time, and remember, every stitch counts :)

Hi Charlotte! First time finding your videos and I come with a rec for a depiller - I use the Philips GC026/80 Lint Remover! Battery operated and it makes all my sweaters looking brand new!

Suri for sure. I agree that it’s softer , less itchy and the fluff is just better 🤷🏼‍♀️ i use a phillips de piller. I have a gleaner but it seems to me that it just pulls the fibers worse and makes the sweater fuzzier and more pilly later

I have a Philips de-piller (can't remember what they call it) and it's excellent. Highly recommend.

suri forever!! I just finished my first test knit and bottom-up project. as a tall person with very long arms, one reason i got into knitting was to make extra long, cozy sleeves, because they are never long enough! I have to buy men's jackets to get proper sleeves, lol. I measured the sleeves of some sweaters I own of a similar width and then calculated how many rows between each set of increases to add to spread out the total additional length across the whole arm. Good luck on your first test knit!

You can replace bottom up sleeve with top down. Do a provisional cast on, use these to join with stitches from body to complete knit up for yoke. Sleeves can be knit down from live stitches to desired length.

Oh definitely suri for me! Way softer. I love alpaca ❤With bottom up sweaters , I usually cast on provisionally and do the cuff when it’s all done and put together, so I can knit the sleeve as long as I need it to be. But I don’t like bottom up sweaters because of the fit issues. I’m a shorty, so I also always have to adjust!

Hello Charlotte. Love the new name on your channel. Your Talvinen pattern looks amazing. The colours are really nice together. The colours suits you. The Tessellated Vest, love the colours together, A thought. Couldn't you use your wooden needle on the pattern? Fjelltur Lite is going to look nice when it is done. The cardingan you are wearing, love the colour on you. I could not to what you do. I need to finish one project at the time. You are awesome. Thank you so much for sharing. Love and Blessings to you and Lady. ❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘

Hi Charlotte! I did a test knit for the Marokko Shirt this Summer for Lucy. It was so much fun and she is such a lovely and kind woman and makes beautiful designs! And for the bottom up... I don`t like bottom up either... Did it just in my Síðsumarskápa. I then always do a provisional cast on at the sleeves and start after the ribbing. Then I knit as intended, not too long. When I try the finihed garment, I can pick up the stitches and knit a few rounds more and then do the ribbing untill it is perfect. When I first tried on my Síðsumarskápa, the bodylength was too long. 🤐 Because of the colourwork I had to do surgery and put the stitches on a needle and removed 10 cm and put it together again with kitchener stitch. Very annoying, but now the length is perfect! But I think a provisional cast on is the best for bottom up. Like your videos very much! Nice projects! I also did the Misurina from Boyland and it is my favourite sweater so far. Now I am working on the Basile Sweater. Happy knitting!! Greetings from Hamburg in Germany Nicola

Alpaca Is Great. Mohair Is Stringy Sometimes, But Good Held With Something Else... Suri Is My Preference But I Never Find A Good Project To Use It In. Instant Crush By Joji Locatelli Is Knit In Mohair, But I Want To Try It With Suri.

Alpaca vs. mohair. I can wear mohair and even Plotulopi directly next to skin. If I try to wear Alpaca next to skin (or if an under garment isn’t tightly woven), I end up scratching like a dog infested with fleas. No earthly idea why.

I’m curious about the best depiller as well. I don’t have one yet and definitely need one. 😁 Your opinion regarding mohair versus Suri is interesting. I am planning on working on something in the next few months where I will be holding the yarn with either suri or mohair. I haven’t used either one before and I’m debating on which one to use. I think I might get a ball of each and see which one I like the feel of better. 😁

I just ripped out a colorwork yoke because the color didn't have enough contrast :( I'm on my second attempt at better contrast now - but knew it was just wasted knitting anyways if the pattern didn't stand out. Your sound today was great! I am a mohair fan (especially Lang Mohair) but haven't tried suri yet.

Beautiful color work and color choice is dead on! I am currently knitting a color work sweater as well and I put it in timeout because it used three colors and I only noticed that when I was half way done with the yoke😮. Any tips that you can give me for knitting repeats in stranded color work? I saw a KZbin video where this lady just used a regular women’s shaver to take out lint …that may work?
@everystitch.counts
@everystitch.counts 9 ай бұрын
Oh no!!!! Whenever I’m using multiple colors I always try to remember the repeats by numbers. For example, if I have three colors, I’ll try to memorize the number of stitchers for that color. Could be something like brown-8,4,2; white 3,2,1; gold, 2,1. Sounds complicated, but if I remember the repeats by color, versus all the colors together, I find it makes more sense.
