Don Redwood sounds like an old detective novel character. That's really well put and great information on the trees. I will probably watch this video as I prune any bald cypress I can collect this year. They look so good just after this pruning. Thanks for sharing with us Candice!

Looking good Candice. I like the different thicknesses, and I think you are right in trying to maintain those differences.

very good. cutters need to be sharp so the cutting doesn't squat the branch being cut. Take longer to heal.

When can we work on their roots? I want to do a new forest composition.
@Candice.BonsaiScience Жыл бұрын
Repotting and root work is always when buds just start to swell.

I have a fair amount of bald cypress I'm developing, and I really appreciate your videos on the subject. You talk often about controlling apical growth. My forest is as tall as I wanted to be. As the shoots grow up because the tree wants to go taller, should I continually prune those back through the growth season? Will that help fatten the lower trunk? Or should I hold off on those until later?
@Candice.BonsaiScience Жыл бұрын
If it’s as tall as you want you’ll want to move from pruning to pinching new growth at the strong apex.

Sorry, i dont unverstand everything you say. But when is the right time to make a really big trunk chop? Great Video! 🎉
