I added this servo mount this weekend. 1. I moved the shock mount behind the axle. Inserting the first screw second to the rear then using a scribe to align the front hole I was able to mount it without cutting or drilling on the frame. 2. By moving the shock mount the steering arm no longer made contact with the shock body. I didn’t do a before and after but I think the turning is tighter than original. 3. I took a crescent wrench and bent down the undergaurd diff cover as it was impacting the servo horn under fully compressed suspension. 4. Using a turn buckle I had for an 1/8 scale application gave me a tight fit with no play at all. Redcat Part Number 81204.

I did the samething but i mounted the servo on top the ampro piece because I found It kept popping the ball ends out of the steering link due to the angle of it. Had to cut a little off the frame but it works way better and is straight across and all around perfectly lined up. Has not broke sense then!💯🤪

Pretty cool. All the screws on my "Chruiser" have been a boogerboo to remove. Seriously torqued down WITH sometype of red threadlock. Its a fine line between stripping the hex out, snapping a ball stud or rounding off a hex key. I split a Tamiya wrench trying to remove one of the steering ball studs. But uts all fun still. :))

very nice upgrade,last year I decided to get some aluminum belcranks,, 1 for the clone and 2 for the old ones.. I think I had 1 I got some time back from rc4wd,but I could only find 1 on ebay.you pay some guy for it and it would be sent to you from somewhere else overseas, I watched it for a while but all at once they were being sold from several others, so I ordered 2 or 3 more,and they are still sitting in my Toyota parts tub lol..i go crazy looking for parts, and when I get them I put them in the correct 30 gallon tub of parts. anyway I wish you came up with that steering upgrade a year ago.

Hi, I was out jumping my Grasshopper, when I landed upside down it broke the shock tower right off the chassis. I don't want to buy a new chassis unless I have to. Can I glue it back on? If so what type of glue should I use? Epoxy? Krazy Glu? Hot glue? Something else?
@doylesmith86785 жыл бұрын
MrRadRc , use super glue and sprinkle baking soda on it (it will harden instantly and is very strong)
@AMPROEngineering5 жыл бұрын
Yes, superglue is the way to go. The baking soda helps also, I use it often. I would also reinforce it with some polystyrene or even a metal backer on the tower to make it a bit stronger but remember that you still need to clear the body

So RC4WD makes them but they dont work given the axle width. They just shove the wheels out more. The only true fix is to replace the axles. I made an adapted wheel that will work better than anything I have ever seen but it still needs to go inward more.

Cool! I like Savox a lot. I honestly have no clue what version I picked up, its been a while. Something with higher torque is good. As for a metal horn, I hate to say it but I just randomly pick up versions on ebay. As long as the spline count is the same. Sorry I am not of more help.

Can this part be dyed black or did you paint it? I think the steering link should be mounted on the top of the arm to look more level.

It is painted black. The production version has the servo 3 mm higher but if the link is higher than that there is interference.

Two runs in (and very mild runs) and the second steering arm broke in exactly the same spot. Very disappointed. The steering arm is just not strong enough.

Thanks for the input Jason, I think, i will make one out of thin steel. Since the original piece is steel. Aluminum looks like it’s way to brittle. Going to go with a thin angle steel and using a Dremel grinding it to the shape of the steering arm..

K S it’s a very common practice. There are even thread lock variants designed for different plastic materials since if a standard TL is used on Acrylic, it melts. For the poly jet material, it’s invaluable.
