I think just a dab of dark silver on the lug nuts would make a big difference on the wheels.

One of my favourite little trucks as well Love all the mods you have done. Very nice running video 👍 I didn’t like those prints on the body as well. I just sanded them off and gave it a clear mat spray. Came up nice

Thank you! You may be on to something. A matte coat wont hurt.

I did the same and then did a light scuff over the whole thing to make it look weathered. Clear mat would have been so much easier!

I like the idea of the open diffs on a 6x6, allows the front wheels more authority to steer the truck. I noticed that with the right combination of tires losing traction you will still spin all 3 axles. However if you just lock the front diff, you will get the best of both worlds. You will always at least have a front tire spinning and still have the turning authority you like. Just a suggestion if you hadn't done it already, or still have the truck that is
@AMPROEngineering3 жыл бұрын
I think that is a good idea! The reason I have not is the vast majority of drive time is on hard dirt/concrete. I really love this thing.

Nice video. I have the Hontai C606 (JJRC Q65 clone?). I put a 370 motor, 7.4V Li-ion batt pack, 30 A ESC, two speed gearbox, metal gear/metal housing axles, 3 channel radio, JX PDI 1182 for steering. I am so happy that it can easily climb over everything I put in front of it. Lost its lights, though. One day I will set it down and figure out a good way to turn them back on. Maybe getting a 6 channel radio and some RC switches would do it.
@AMPROEngineering3 жыл бұрын
Wow that is a lot of work! I am a huge fan of them so I am glad to hear all the work you put into yours!
@gabrielpichardo14925 жыл бұрын
You don't have to glue the diffs. You can put some heavy grease in there the heaviest you can get. It will act almost like locked diffs and will get you through much more rough stuff plus you will still get the turning radius of open diffs still
@AMPROEngineering5 жыл бұрын
This is a good suggestion. I like the diffs but from time to time they get the truck stuck in really easy places.

Great video and mods on this truck. An ordinary model would most likely cost more for this size. I love WWII planes and vehicles. I have ordered this and will do most of the mods you have done. Most parts are ordered and on there way. I plan to do some painting and weathering. The truck will be in today, can't wait to get it charged and play with it.

@@AMPROEngineering I got it in today and it is awesome! I took the cab off and painted the inside flat green with steel trim around the guages. Looks great. A question, looks like the plastic drive shafts are just pushed on with pressure, no grubs. Are they fairly easy to remove? Can you run a 7.4v 2cell lipo without burning out the ESC. Thanks
@AMPROEngineering4 жыл бұрын
Ricky Jenkins they are pretty hard to get off without breaking them. I just crush the plastic and then install some metal ones. The truck can’t run off of 7.2v out of the box. It needs its complete electrical system replaced like I did to mine first.

@@AMPROEngineering I hope all of my upgrades will be passed thru customs since they are all coming from China (Coronavirus). They should arrive in about 30 days. I will be using the 20A Bustophedon ESC, all metal steering servo, 370 motor w/heatsink, 2 speed gear box, 3 piece metal drive shafts and some diff oil. I will be using my Flysky FS-GT3B transmitter. Now, I can either run it with the original batteries or can I now run Lipo's. I have ordered the Turnigy 1000mah 2S 20C 7.2v pack. If I can use the Lipo, will the voltage be to much, especially for the lights? Thanks. This should make it a really nice truck now. It's fun to play with but moves way too fast.

I think you should follow up with your initial idea on weathering heavily the paint on the body: that way you get multiple advantages as for the stickers that will fade in the rust and should not be removed (or use acetone or propanol alcohol), you will keep the basic paint and you will not mind further scratches or clippings. I like the work you have done for the interior! I'm not sure this jjrc models are really any better than the wpl ones, but surely I like to see more of your customizations on these cheap Chinese RCs... ;)

Are these Amy good as supplied, as I don't have the know how to make upgrades? The one thing I would imagine is an issue would be the none proportional throttle so will go to fast over rough terrain, is there an easy way to slow it down to make it run at a more realistic speed over rough terrain? What if I was to make my own battery pack of just 4 high capacity aa batteries making it 4.8v will this work at slowing it down or will it just make it to underpowered?
