I like videoes like this. Showing we do not need a 1000 dollar car to have fun. Simple things do often make the day, and save you alot of money. Just yesterday, I ordered my second GH2. Last time I had one was back in the 90's as my first tamiya car. I must admit, I ordered a set of CVA's to it, and a 380 Sport tuned. Why I did not go for the 540, is bc of the extra weight it ads to the allready heavy rear suspension.

Exactly, an expensive car is no more fun than this thing!

I love it, beater cars are fun. Every RC hobbyist with a good size collection should have at least one beater, even if the car is made from scrap parts.

Yeah i have to say that this car really has character and you can tell it's happy to be alive!

I have a soft spot for "dumpster fire" RC vehicles. Growing up I didn't have much money and literally drove my associated t2 into the ground. Being the moron kid I was and that we all were I made multiple epoxy and ductape repairs. One thing I did find was that making all those repairs taught me so much about using tools, suspension geometry and simply how to figure out the issue. Love the content, was never really a Tamiya guy until I started watching you

Thats the damn truth man. Cars like this are how we started and learned.

I save all my junk rc parts in hopes that one day I will end up with a free RC car like this.

I have a HPI Baja 5B made from damaged or take off parts, it was never a complete buggy just bent cracked or scuffed parts apart from the battery even the servo's and receiver are repaired items, and yes friends who have never driven RC and particularly not the largescale class. So yep I like it that way.

Can I use epoxy to fix chassis instead of replacing them?
@AMPROEngineering4 жыл бұрын
Epoxy doesn’t really help. You have to use some things that will bond the chassis together on more of a molecular level. Then you can reinforce it with Styrene

Cool. I have a Super Hornet I paid $40 for from a guy who just didn’t want it anymore. I was actually pleasantly surprised with how well it goes. It would seem the one in this vid is more than the sum of its parts.

Has anyone tried cutting out the resistor on a mechanical speed controller and connecting up a lipo for instant drill speed
@RC-ty5ym4 жыл бұрын
Why not switching to an esc?
@K-Anator4 жыл бұрын
Hypothetically speaking... What would happen if I hooked up a 7.4v LiPo to a mechanical speed controller found in the older Tamiya cars?
@scannaunderscore14 жыл бұрын
@@K-Anator well you wouldn't want to keep the resistor block wired up because it would cook it
@ventisette.4 жыл бұрын
K-Anator™ it could take it, voltage is the same as a 7-cell NiMh on full charge.
@RC-ty5ym4 жыл бұрын
@@ventisette. NOPE. A full charged nimh cell as around 1.4V Volt, so 1,4*7=9,8V
Don't you all just love how KZbin decided to show double ads for every add break someone puts? I bet they didn't even pay the creator any more than they used to it's just KZbin being greedy.
