Mohammed Hanif yeah I agree... especially the first half... but towards the end MS seemed to pump the brakes big time on first party development, Sony stepped up righted the ship and then the last of us came out and I was starting to shift my favoritism toward the PS... But I also thought MS was shifting their development to the next Xbox... wow was I wrong, and Sony trounced them on all fronts especially first party titles... that being said I’m hoping MS builds a complete beast for this up coming gen and seriously releases some great first party titles.

While the 360 ended up selling the least amount of hardware units that generation, it's important to remember that it was the industry leader, even if it wasn't the market leader. While the biggest innovations of the Wii and PS3 are largely forgotten about nowadays (motion controls and Blu-ray support) the 360's biggest innovations are still relevant to this day and still play a huge part in the industry. Could you imagine a modern gaming industry without achievements? Or online gaming without the features we take for granted today?

The Xbox 360 isn't the first console to introduce online connectivity, gaming, and DLC, but it set the trend. It was the standard for others to follow. And for a supposedly inferior hardware compared to the PS3, the developers found it so easy to work with that it had the better versions of great games like Bayonetta, Fallout New Vegas, Skyrim, and more. Very deserving to be in the Top 10 best consoles of all time.

What they were trying to do with Xbox 360 legitimately sounds like the iPhone, but with a game controller. The 360 was so ahead of the curve in so many ways, and it's tragic to see that it relied on other Microsoft products that inevitably flopped, making some of these cutting edge features useless. It's a good thing they put gaming first on the 360, because if it failed to be a decent game system, it would have been a massive commercial failure.
