madcapoperator The Sega Saturn is very unlikely. I don't think folks realize how much of a pain in the ass that system is to emulate. No one is any were close to emulating that thing perfectly or even close to reasonably. SSF emulator is the best out there and even it has issues.

original load time would be dependant on cs read speed, upgrading the ram and read speed of the optical drive would likely drop the limitations the original hardware had this likely correct load hangs the original hardware had in load times I suspect this will correct all the loading faults all cd based media it be like comparing 1-4x speed vs 24-52x speed and it like comparing the latest dvd speed to what was common at the 1st dvd consoles came out Though the biggest question I have is have you sort license from pioneer or whoever created the first hybridized console??? Because no matter what you list in support for console platform, the fact there is already a console in existence that already does this in some degree I would think you would border on both patent and trade mark infingement of thi platform you wish to create.. Not to mention to support the hdd requirements if you are in creation of cd/iso dump of the entire back catelog of wach system and region variant If I was going to support playstation i would go upto the ps2 spec with kernal upgrades to modern hard drive the bigger issue I can see is both game cart anf memory card/cart support for both games and game save that can interface with the arcade machine which I both sega and neogeo developed it where games supported such feature use I honestly hope thi ends up in stores where I live, however no matter of the chassis type you go with I have to wonder if you sort license and patent use from the original vendor of what this console is based from.. I think failure to seek these patents and licenses may not see this console released anytime soon, I would like to see this released however I can see the original owners looking for their cut.. ooking at the size I can't see either the avs or mvs system being supported

Turbografx Cd had horrible loading times. It drove me nuts playing It Came From the Desert. I still love that system though. Looking forward to getting this.

i legit own dozens of ps1 games. one of my interests in your system is the fast loading emulation. my plan is to apply a couple patches to mega man x5 and mega man x6 but to do so they will be reburned to disc in order to facilitate the changes. Can those games run on polymega?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Polymega system is NOT going to be available any time soon. Various sources have claimed that there is no operational version of the CD-ROM system due to production problems.

Are the official specs posted somewhere? In addition to HDMI, I really hope this supports RGB and Component output with native resolutions dialed in for each system. I'm also hoping we can copy roms straight to the SD card instead of dumping each game individually. I already own the retroUSB AVS and Analogue Nt mini but I would still buy this with every accessory if those basic requirements are met. The overall design is beautiful. Fingers crossed :)

I understand that Sega CD is already supported by their base console, along with PS1 and Turbo-Graphix CD/PC-Engine. Unfortunately, no support for Sega Saturn has been announced at this point.

This is really, really impressive stuff. Just saw all the details on this console, and if it works as well as it appears to, this is going to be SO great for retro game fans. The only thing I legitimately don't like is not being able to see the original games' loading screens, but that is a small loss for those great load times!

CMM1215 it will have the real in game load screens in the final version (which are contained on the disc, so not subject to BIOS copyright)

Yes cd-roms can be made to load cd's faster. Nintendo showed it is possible with gameqube,nintendo wii and wii u. Not to mention sega Saturn and dreamcast.

An actual comparison against the cdz would also be good to see rather than trying to lump it in with the cd model. And fwiw youtubers these cd units came out over 20 years ago. sorry.... me faltó agregar (x las sintesis q lo hize) q==> los controles inalámbricos del sistema, la ergonomía.... q difícilmente tendrás en la PC mejora la experiencia de esta polymega Lo otro! es q te FUERZA a no salir del router pa juera como GGPO o finalburn, en donde estás obligado men a batírtelas con cheaters y flacos q usan macros o qn sabe q otro truco. Ahora tienes el museo a distancia de un clic, puedes mostrárselos a tus hijos, puedes aprovechar los juegos originales sin paralax malo, sin glitches de emu, sin... bueno, por dar ejemplos q se me van ocurriendo de las ventajas de este sistema. suena piola opción... (yo la usaría para darme vuelta tantos juegos perdiendo el mínimo de vidas)

Retroarch con el nucleo Beetle PSX HW basado en Mednafen es 99% idéntico a una PS1 real, y no se pone más cómodo que usar un DualShock 4. El 1% restante no influye en nada. A mi no me interesa esta caja de emulación por software glorificada y cara. Si tuviera FPGA, quizás.

My only grip is it plays neo cd games and i've got a huge cd collection and cdz but it doesnt support neogeo controllers. It needs to get a MVS modular with actually neogeo ports. If it had that it would have the whole neo market. No one buys AES anymore for carts everyone buys MVS and then it could play cds too with neo geo sticks and cd controllers. Would totally rule. Its super illogical not to have an MVS modular.
