I just caught your videos while looking for some decent m20 assembly/disassembly videos. I really hope you make some more videos, your music choice and camera work is definitely better than most. Keep this level of quality up, the topics are just what a lot of us are looking for.

Rob W thanks!! That means a lot to me haha. I’m gradually getting better with the camera work, the next video was done a little bit better. Bought some small lights for that vid, have some more on the way. Things will get better bit by bit. I’m still waiting on my machinist on the motor so I’m trying to think of topics in the meantime. Do you think an episode on the megasquirt install would be interesting? Also considering a quick technical video about the exact build plans regarding to “turbo stroker”. Thanks again, this gives me gas to keep doing this!

@@GordosGarage Absolutely yes. I've got a very similar setup (SETA turbo running @13# and getting 350hp) but bought the whole thing complete. Watching your work is helpful, especially any MS content (I'm running MS2 PNP Extra). The E30 community needs solid vids like these.

I just pulled MY m20 and disassembled it in my garage on MY harbor freight engine stand with MY husky 268 piece tool set in order to stroke and bore and tune my turbk setup like 3 days ago. And I have but one question.... how come this beater m20 with crooked timing is so much cleaner than mine which is in good shape? 😂😂😂

Dmetri Borotov haha nice! What’s the plan with yours?? Yeah I was VERY surprised with how clean the cylinder head was.. I’m excited to hear what my machinist has to say about it. Unfortunately he is taking his sweet time so things are on pause until he finishes but you can’t rush an artist!

@@GordosGarage not really sure what I wanna do bore and stroke wise. Basically took my engine which I bought with head studs on it already, and boosted it. Blew the stock HG on 12psi. Put an MLS on it and bleed the rings at 15psi due to pre ignition because the distributors suck. But I did it all on the afm and stock ecu. Which impressed me. I had planned on m60 swapping it but honestly the m20 held up so well i decided to spend that 5-7k that would've gone to swap goodies on a full build for my engine. Should be 20psi ish and 600+who when it's done.

Hi Gordo, nice explanations, as already indicated, much better than most other videos! So, my question, how did you block the crankshaft in order to loosen the bolt? It seems I cannot see how the crankshaft was locked? Can you please elaborate a little on that? The extended arm, to create more torque, is clear to me, but since the bolt is wrenched at 400Nm it should be locked somewhere? Thanks for the feedback and keep on going!
