Just for fun try the super glue again but for accelerator try baking soda. After the first application use more super glue and baking soda to build up around the post. I tried this on a main steering arm for an 8th scale monster truck while waiting for a new part to arrive... I have the new part but the glued one is still working on the truck.
@AMPROEngineering3 жыл бұрын
I use that baking soda trick all the time. It's awesome and drys like concrete. The problem is with this high density polyethylene, literally nothing sticks. I even have glue intended for it and it works kind of well but not strong enough to actually hold that post

I remember having a Tamiya M01 back in 1999-2000, if had the optional Tech Racing rear belt conversion with the optional 2-speed, once second speed engaged, the front end would lift and just spin out running low turn mod motors. Those were the good times, nowadays I’m burned out from having the best of the best, and spoiled myself, it lost its fun after investing so much money.

The Fiat Abarth Berliner Corsa came on that chassis and you can swap the rear end parts to the front giving you a front wheel drive, The M01 & M02 chassis's was my first two hobby grade rc's.

Yeah the project long done and that was what I ended up doing. I like the RWD chassis more but in the end, the Ritmo is FWD.
@MrCaprinut3 жыл бұрын
Cool project! In early 80s we used to have visiters next door in the summer, and they was a Fiat crazy family. Among those cars they did have a Ritmo. Don' know the spec it had. I also have a M02 that I converted from M01. Mine got styrene side plates for the chassis and fitted with a Ford Capri Mk3 body. Shifted very nicely with a Sport Tuned motor. Nearly too fast.
@AMPROEngineering3 жыл бұрын
I have the US specifications versions as well as a couple of European exports. I happen to love them! Which body did you use? The Tamiya Race one? I would love a stock MK2 or MK3 shell in ABS!
@MrCaprinut3 жыл бұрын
@@AMPROEngineering I did use the Kamtec 1:12 abs body which I cut off the lower part off the body as it is a banger body and not that scale. After that I made new sections in styrene and also made front and rear bumpers as well as the front and rear spoilers. Last weekend I actually finished my Tamiya Zakspeed Capri body in Würth livery. Awesome body and Tamiya nailed it with that one. I do have heard a rumor that there will be a Mk3 Capri body made in lexan later on from a different company, I cross my fingers. And you will love this! Proline is soon to be release a Pinto body for the drag cars. You got to have one of those when they comes available ;-) So far we have only seen a preview on their FB page.

So have you thought of ever getting a TC01 a TD4 the new Watanabe version of the wild one and the return of the tamtech grasshopper do you even like the super avante?
@AMPROEngineering3 жыл бұрын
TC01 Chassis is amazing! Not a fan of the wild one and the Watanabe version seems tame. I have the Watanabe Hornet and I love it. I used to have that Tamtech chassis and it is crap. One of the worst RC's I have ever owned. The super avante....they should not have called it that in the first place. Second, WTF is up with the front suspension/battery design? I mean are they serious? Nope, hate it.

If you are redesigning the chassis, why not reorient the battery box longitudinally and center it for strength and better weight distribution, moving the servo to the side.
@AMPROEngineering3 жыл бұрын
Great question. I didn't think it would be that weak and since I just wanted something basic, all the extra engineering wasn't worth it for a car that I just installed an 85t motor in, lol!

There are several companies that do 3-D printed bodies but the main problem is quality. Many of them use FDM prints and this results in a very poor service finish on some of these models. There's a couple of companies that I'm working with right now I'm doing very high-quality SLS nylon ones
