E34 Death Wobble Case Study

E34 with death wobble at 40+ MPH. All front suspension already replaced. All front steering linkages already replaced. Driveshaft rebuilt/balanced. All previous work performed by other shops. Picoscope NVH kit revealed primary vibration at 19 Hz and secondary at 10 Hz. i have the problem since i bought the car and im running my stock wheels that ive balanced multiple times. my suspension parts all feel completely fine and sturdy. no idea what is causing it on mine.

ive also bought 2 other sets of wheels which didnt make a differents.

@@mheidinger1022 We would recommend taking it to an expert who has the equipment and know-how to track down the vibration you are experiencing. Without the ability to interact with the vehicle directly, we can not recommend anything as the culprit or likely cause. Often times vehicles will exhibit similar symptoms but have widely varying causes.

Why not just fit hub-centric rings?

Hub-centric rings certainly could have solved the issue but with the client living nearby and already having a set of properly sized wheels on hand, it was quicker and less costly to install the wheels that were correct for the vehicle.

I have this problem too, 1 out of 2 sets of rims is good front undercarriage is brand new but still doing it?

@@gergohunyak464 We recommend taking the vehicle to a reputable expert to have it tested in order to determine the cause of the issue. You could try DIY repair by guessing and replacing parts but this method typically costs more money and certainly more of your time than hiring an expert to do it for you.
