Wow, you were not kidding when you said it was a tight fit. Done now though. Very good looking prints and very strong. Pricey to the UK, due to import taxes ect, but well worth it. My issue now is, I had bought aftermarket Aluminium shocks and they were fitted horizontally. Now they fit vertically onto the new hubs, the ones I have are way too long. Any idea what length the shocks sould now be to get the best fiting and suspension travel?
@AMPROEngineering Жыл бұрын
Yeah that is a shame it costs so much to get there given Shapeways is located in the Netherlands. The shocks needed are 80mm. That is what the stock ones are so maybe add some internal spacers to get the eye to eye length at 75-80mm. Email me at amproengineering@gmail.com if you have any issues.

@@AMPROEngineering yeah, weird. They say if it is more than £135 then I am an imported and have to pay the duty. Have a 2S lipo to try out too but will probably not go Brushless. Seen some videos and it just seems a little to uncontrollable for my liking. OH! Haha! You had me concerned! I can't tell you off my head but as long as the upright is perpendicular to the ground you are good. Remember to test the travel with your shocks before you add oil to them. The rear suspension can bind the axles if the shock is too long. You may need an internal spacer (I used a 2 mm spacer in mine).

Thank you for the kind words Giuseppe. I do not talk about my background but I must say that it might make a good video soon. I am a Senior Mechanical Engineer at one of the best product design firms in Silicon Valley. I used to design pharmaceutical machinery but now have moved on to very high tech consumer products. I do all my own designs and then prototype them in house. From there, all parts are sent to Shapeways.com for production prints. I used to use Solidworks from 1998-2010 but then got fed up with the inability to deal with even the smallest of assemblies. I moved to Pro/ENGINEER in 2010 use it to this day (now it's called Creo). I have some awesome stuff coming soon so keep yours eyes peeled!
