It needs a canvas military style cap on the bed. I don't know why but it just needs it. Or at least an overlanding tent on a rack over the bed. Great vid as always!

I'm liking these ROCHOBBY RCs more & more. You're right about it not working well in loose dirt. I love the details. The only complaint I have is how bouncy they are. I don't know, are there softer springs for the shocks? I do agree it looks like a good trail truck, especially for a trail that has lots of obstacles.

So on ebay you can get oil filled shocks. They work well but when you let them sit (i park mine in their boxes), the shocks lock up. Give them a squeeze and they are good to go. They quality is quite good.

@@AMPROEngineering ok, that sounds good. These small RCs are surprising in their capabilities. The bouncy part was the only draw back for me. Most of my RCs are 1/10 scale and much heavier. Every new video you out out has got me looking at getting one of these small alternatives. The level of detail on these is just amazing.

That's a great car. Interesting to see that the nose and front fenders differ from the 4x4 version I have from EAZYRC. One would think using the same die would be easier.

it is using the RocHobby Firehorse mold. I like the EazyRC one myself

@@AMPROEngineering the Fire Horse has the same mold as the Arizona that I have, with attached front fenders. This Cheyenne has more rounded front fenders without the running lights, they even look like separate parts.

The regular stock grille from the Arizona can be bought separately but it does not include the metal mesh behind the grille. It should fit seeing as how the Fire Horse, Cheyenne and Arizona are all basically the same style. Wish they made a 4x4 version of the Cheyenne to make it a Gladiator!

I think the WPL 6X6 ARMY Truck and the 40's looking army transport by ROChobbys we're previously tested positively here. So which of the 3 would you go to war in?

They are different beasts. The WPL cars are way better for outdoor use but lack the detail that these FMS cars have. Honestly, when I take these out they go along side my WPL's. Here is a good rule, if you want it done, get the FMS. If you want to modify it, go WPL.

Have you seen word of the new FMS 1/18 Chevrolet Apache 6X6? It's a fantasy 6x6 but it is based on the 1958 Chevy Apache. Hope they release it in a 4x4 version

Nice review, thank you! 👍 How about its torque - is the motor strong enough to climb steep angles? And what about the modulation - can it drive slowly or you need to press hard the throttle when it meets an obstacle? Cheers!

Yes, these have a lot of torque. They are geared incredibly low which is one of the things I like about them. You can find many, many reviews of FMS/EazyRC cars on my channel and some of the things they do is amazing. There is one of the FireHorse that blew me away

The thing about the size that bothers me, is they're not all the same scale. The "1/18" Toyota Hilux isn't 1/18, it's 1/14 I think, and the Chevy K10/Glacier is about 1/17 scale if I remember correctly. They just scale the plastic bodies up or down to fit the typical FMS-RocHobby chassis and axles. The new FCX24 isn't 1/24, it looks 1/18 or whatever scale the Atlas is.

Well that is true but It is not limited to these smaller cars. The Tamiya Toyota hilux is 1/9, the blackfoot is 1/12, the Lunchbox is 1/14....I think they are focused on a "ballpark" even if it is annoying
