Video is 10/10 only thing I could’ve used help w is removing the rear headrest. If you’re struggling with that there’s clips holding them down under the rear deck you can pull those right before you pull the deck

Great video. I ordered a new one, but it's been on backorder for 5 months. I put a jet engine in my Mustang last spring, and the chicks really dig me. I went so fast that the headliner burnt up all around the windshield.

Thanks for the video. I have to do this in my 95’ M3…. Headliner is half off at this point and getting old bits of sticky foam everywhere! How did the rear and front pillar covers come out?? Were there plastic clips? You hit the nail on the head with the comment where you fix one thing and end up breaking more!!!

Hello Oliver! The front pillar covers have plastic pieces that push into place into metal clips located on the actual pillar. I believe the rears are also setup in a similar fashion. My best advice would to pull the pillars parallel and slightly up to safely get them out while minimizing the chance of the clips breaking. Of course, old plastic pieces will eventually become brittle with age, but just do your best! Thanks for watching and good luck!

Haha, I’m glad you tackled it though! It’s definitely a process but it’s rewarding that you were able to do it yourself. Yes, the glue was super frustrating, especially when it comes to laying down the fabric without wrinkling it! I’m hoping my video helped ya out 👍🏽

Hey Dillon, so the clip is under the adjustment slider. You need to push it in with a pick or a flat head screwdriver to pop it off. So looking from underneath, push your tool in and it should slide off. Here’s a little thread with some info on B pillar removal. Thank you for the video! Unfortunatelly you show me the way how not to do this. Looks definitelly much easier than really is. Im thinking about gluing the carpet as you did or upholstering leather for some professional outcome. 1200 dollars for a new headliner is a bit too much!

Hey Thomeeno! Yes, please learn from my mistakes! Definitely take your time and do your best to minimize creases. For the amount I paid for materials, I was pretty happy with the outcome! Man I feel your pain. I also broke a few on those pillars as well! You can buy a few new clips online or just do what I did and place Velcro straps on the inside for easier installation and removal!

Hey there, great question! Here’s a write up I found online. www.eatsleeptinker.com/2014/06/08/e36-sunroof-liner-job/ It looks like it’s held in place by a few torx screws. The panel should come out and you’d just have to remove the upholstery, sand it, and apply the glue spray & fabric. I hope that helps! Good luck and thanks for watching!

Nah, the blue you see is actually vinyl wrap I put on myself. The original color is cosmos black. Everything underneath is that color except the front bumper which got replaced. I do believe that’s the original paint though! 👍🏽

Hi Benoit, sorry if the video wasn’t clear for you. At that part, the pillar simply pulls off. There should be two or three tabs holding it in place. To prevent them from breaking just take your time, but it’s very difficult to remove this portion without breaking any clips. Good luck!

Awesome, I’m glad you were able to figure out. Yea I broke one or two clips too. Ended up JB welding it back together and used some Velcro adhesive to keep it in place 👍🏽

The lighting is atrocious. Can't see a damned thing. You could've also described how all the pieces come out so we don't pull on the delicate pieces the wrong way and break mounting tabs and clips etc..

Hey there Tony. My apologies if the lighting made the video difficult to watch. Most of the clips pull out parallel to the mounting orientation. Unfortunately, the reality is, a lot of these clips will break despite how delicate you are. It is a 25 year old chassis at the end of the day. Good luck and thanks for watching.
