My fiancé saw the D12 online and had to have one. I got her an Imex rebranded one from an LHS, and it set me back $100. She loves it. Then we went to another hobby shop that had the D12 and the D42, for $80. She ended up getting the D42 off ebay for a lot less. She wants me to get one of each also, and have a build off. I want to make the van into a Bosozoku style. And the truck as a tow vehicle. Would take a very creative trailer to carry a Bosozoku rig.

This is tempting, and that red is very nice. Its just still difficult to justify when I have 2 D12 Buuut the red would look nice, and I guess it would handle differently. Also when it comes to carrying, its cheap and means it doesn't handle as well, but I just block some of the suspension travel with chunks of cork. Means it can carry a fairly decent load

I totally agree. I love my D12. This car does have better electronics and I am curious if this was also updated on the D12. Ill cover the D32 next.

Yes the inner part of the bed is purposely done matte.

This is a good idea. It will allow a bed lining paint to bond better and even if you do not want to paint it, scratches and scuffs will not be nearly as noticeable.

I have an early D12 that I've been messing with for a while. It had issues with the front suspension being too stiff and the rear too soft, and the stock radio wasn't great. Right now it's a hodgepodge of modified bits and pieces, and it's kind of a jalopy. I was going to try and rebuild it, but after seeing how much better the D22 (and, from what I've heard, the newer production runs of the D12) is, I'm thinking I might just get one of those and use the old D12 for spare parts. I also really like that the D22 is left-hand drive, which would make it look a bit more at home here in Canada.

I dont know if the new D12 has the softer front suspension. I am pretty sure those torsion springs are for the 22/32. I installed the D12 ones on this since I added figures to it and they were way too heavy. I think this is why the stiffer D12 springs didn't seem too bad on mine. I do know that they changes a ton to the new D12. This D22 is amazing also and it does feel more refined.

I love these small kei trucks from wpl so much! But the front end of the where the a-arms meet the chassis are very fragile and the rear suspention is ok but the bed hits on the tires so you have to put spacers on the bed. But looks wise it is perfect!

I do love these also. I never had an issue with the front but yeah, the rear leafs are useless. I run oil filled shock over riders that I got on ebay and they are a huge help.

I absolutely love these little trucks and vans. My only issue is the transmitter for me it's not comfortable but it's not an issue to upgrade. I have to ask where one could get some of the wheels on the red van? I've looked on your shapeways page but can't see them. Much love and keep up the great work.

So the wheels will all be on myminifactory for home prints. On shapeways, they will cost around $80, haha! Ill have a video showing the types and tires needed soon as well as the links.

@@AMPROEngineering excellent news cant wait for the video. I don't have a 3d printer or plan to even get one. I've seen videos about them and its WAY beyond my abilities. I'll probably just bite the bullet on shapeways . Keep up the great work. P.s your first video on the d12 is probably one of my favourites your excitement level is infectious "omg its painted?" And "wait , don't tell me its proportional!!" Absolutely love it.

WPL's naming pattern seems to be split up by letters (D being the 1/10 scale kei trucks, B being the military trucks, C being civilian Toyota-based trucks, and E being tanks). The numbers within each series obviously denote the specific model. The second digit seems to indicate the number of driven wheels. The first digit, I'm not so sure about - maybe it's just the order in which they were released.
