Nice. I've been following the HevORT for a while. Planning to convert a big crappy printer I found into a HevORT. I'll watch the rest of your videos on it.

I appreciate it! It was a really fun/frustration/rewarding project that taught me a lot about printing, mainly coding in RepRap, and the importance of good design.

@@JordanMiller1117 yeah I bet. The printer I picked up for cheap is a Tronxy X5SA 500 pro. Not known for reliability. Brand new but needs TLC. Planning to get it working and printing or acquiring a Duet board, HevORT parts and slowly upgrading it. The major difference will be the lack of the heavier frame for now. Possibly a Chinese servo upgrade as well. That's the plan.

BLTouch won’t resist high chamber temps. Maybe take a look at the Annex Engineering Magnetic Probe? That might hold up better

Yeah I am using E3D's bed switch now, but the BLTouch in the chamber was a concern of mine too. I appreciate the recommendation, I'll check it out.

Great video! Great project! You built exactly the printer, I am thinking about since months. The fusion of the E3D tool changer and the leveling bed of the hevort. Have you ever considered a remote extruder like the zesty nimble? It combines the advantages of a light printhead like a Bowden setup and the direct extrusion of the material.
@JordanMiller1117
@JordanMiller1117 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you I appreciate it! I have seen/heard the Zesty before and I didn’t think to use it here actually. But yes that is a good idea, I plan on doing some sort of direct drive setup for the many hotends on this printer. Thanks for the reminder!

Bowden is actually ideal for printing fast since you aren't slinging around that pesky stepper, I would love to see a HevORT bowden. Although I will say the Mellow BMG Aqua several of the group members use doesn't seem to affect speeds much.

I agree, the decrease mass will help with artifacts not being as prevalent in the print.

You will need heavy insulation and those 90c parts will not allow pei peek or like printing anywhere near, a minimum of 150 c build temps ideally up to 190c build temps are needed for that material . If you want use pa12 cf it’s at least good for 130c continuous but you should have them made out of at least 9085 or 1010 pei if your wanting to print super high temps

Why do you want Duet 3? If you gonna get RPi 4 you can cheapout on main board, and use Klipper, and with Klipper you can have hotend boards connected using CAN bus(look up "Huvud toolhead board"). If you're not sure it would work, Guy at ERRF 2019 did it( video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKaTlWejrr-ni80 )
@JordanMiller1117
@JordanMiller1117 3 жыл бұрын
I wanted the expandability of duet, plus I already am familiar with it. I have no idea what I’m doing with Klipper. You raise a valid point but cost wasn’t too much of a concern for this build, I know where your coming from trying to maximize the dollar. Plus, The Hevort creator already had config files only for duet when I made that decision.

@JordanMiller1117
@JordanMiller1117 3 жыл бұрын
What is too big? The fittings are quite big relative to the hotend, but are the connectors the Slice recommends, so that is what I’ll be using, the connectors work with the tubing I will be using.

No problem was just trying to help maybe review slices page at the bottom or the liquid mosquito about the McMaster Carr pcs they added to the bottom, I was only trying to prevent issue for you my bad but do read the changes at the web site for your flexible hose to theses fittings without the Vicon hoses they now specked
