So last year was the year of the dragon and myself and some guys at locals all played mostly dragon decks in Edison for a while. And we were joking since it’s a new year what that would bring. And it happened to be the year of the snake. So we chose Aliens since they are reptiles. And this gave me a very easy slate to start with.

I've long believed Gol'gar is the best syncro in the format by a lot. Real bummer all the decks that could run him are poor because the best lvl 4 alien is a vanilla. There aren't even any lvl 4 darks for arma to send. One of the other alien support cards Planet Pollutant Virus is cracked, gol'gar levels broken. Tribute an alien (can be set) blow up all the opponents monsters. When I played a lot of alien decks I found this card was often the best card in the deck. Has the same weakness as Gol'gar, no level 4's worth playing but have to run anyway. At least it can be used to save your level 4's from being removed from play by bottomless, d-prison, caius. It is much better than offering, as offering is incredibly unreliable going from okay to game losing. Offering fizzles if you don't have the reptile on resolution so book stuffs it but general stuff like PWWB invalidate it. Not all decks can invalidate it, fine sideboard card, but maiming it is a liability. 2 PPV + 2 Offering in fine, at this point I just main 3 PPV though. I like the list in the video, looks very fun to play. It also looks like a similar story to other Gol'Gar decks where the alien cards are fine but not as useful draws as the normal cards that have been cut from the deck for their inclusion. Still, the emergency teleporter and sacred wyvern stuff is really cool, more smooth than other takes I've seen on lists like this. The removal of miracle to focus on the mali part of heroes also looks like it is much more consistent at generating powerful plays. It's a shame Gol'gar does not have any real good set up cards beyond normal summon a 1900 vanilla. Darks really out here eating good with grepher and arma. I wonder if there is some kind of cursed water toolbox deck possible with cards like Genex Undine and Skreech to set up ammonite and miracle fusion plays, but at that point we are reaching some very experimental unexplored jank. At least Skreech is a reptile for offering.
