Harry didn`t cheat on Ste for money. James ruthlessly exploited Harry on his most vulnerable, being desperate to obtain money for a decent place to live, to prevent Ste from starting to sell drugs again. Harry sacrificed himself to stop Ste from entering a slippery slope that likely would have made him an addict again. Harry and Ste have far more legitimate reasons for hating and detesting James, than James for Ste. It was JP who cheated on James - not Ste. But what James did... Well, that takes some seriously psychopathic mindset and lack of conscience to pull through, that is for sure! First pretending to represent Harry`s father`s legal interests - while actually working against him to secure his mother Harry`s father, Tony`s, business. Then soliciting Harry for sexual favors, and extort him with it afterwards to force him to persuade his father to let Marnie take over the business. And some people think Jarry would be a good match? In a cartoon a crocodile and a duck could be depicted to be best friends. In an actual movie they would have needed at least one duck for each take, to play the part of the duck. Cause the crocodile would not have stopped eating them. It is the same with James and Harry. People like James anyone would be ill advised to get close to.

After all, I didn’t saw James ever finding out that Ste was going to sell drugs is it? or Harry telling him why he was accepting?... Besides, he did gave them a place to live for while, is ti? 2. I recall Harry agreeing with James to sell the Hutch to him... which watching Harry’s reaction, Tony got a good amount of money for it. 3. James was only following Marnie’s desires to get that restaurant... so from my point of view, Marnie is the controlling sociopath here... by putting his son on a serious legal problem, like when they force him to frame Sami’s dad to pay the hooker. Taking advantage of James’s constant desires to satisfy his parents. 4. Not claiming James is a role model, he has done a lot of mistakes... but I don’t see you ranting about Ste taking advantage of Harry while he was underage? Or is that not a crime in real life? 5. I’m pretty sure you haven’t watched the entire James’s SL, but I remember Harry using James for his own benefit because of the one night stand & the restaurant thing on several occasions. 6. Harry has seen James at his worst & at his best as human... so pretty sure he has taken in consideration all of this events... now, James (friend) is the only person Harry feels he can be honest & talk about his inner demons without being judged. Something that has never, have never & I think will never happen in his current relationship. Because his partner is a self centered absorbed control freak. 7. So far I remember, during Ste’s trial, James thought Harry was the “killer”... so driven by his hatred towards Ste, he took the easy road & frame Ste because of JP. In the end, he pull both Harry & Ste from going to prison.. which he didn’t had any moral obligation to do it for Ste... in the end, he did it to protect Harry from ending earlier in jail. 8. This is a soap, so James & Harry background has a lot of plot holes... either them will be dead, kill or move out to another village by now in real life.

Roy Flores It is quite obvious, reading your comparison between James` wrongdoings and Ste`s, you either are not aware of the serious nature of criminal charges of fraud and extortion James could face as the result of what he did to Tony and Harry, or the serious breach of conduct - likely to have his license to practice law permanently revoked - that would be the consequences of the same. As for not putting a gun to Harry`s head, are you serious! James offered a 19 year old boy he had flirted with £10 000 for a night of sex. Harry had never been faced with such an offer before, nor had he ever been in more need of money. But that is not even the issue! The issue is that James used that night to first extort Harry to force him to take part in the fraud against his father. Those two latter "issues" are criminal offences Harry neither agreed to, nor partook in voluntarily. So sorry but your claim of no one putting a gun to his head is both imprecise and incorrect. He might not have had a gun to his head over the £10 000 night, but because of the extortion he certainly had so afterwards. And it is that aspect of it which makes James the lowest kind of lowlife. He exploited someone who both trusted him, and who was in a position of weakness (homeless, fearing his boyfriend could become an addict again if he started selling drugs). When has Ste ever done anything which come close to that towards Harry? I am fully aware Ste has many faults, and it is also my opinion Harry for the most part have been the responsible grown up in the relationship, and the one to have made all the sacrifices. Personally I think Harry would have been much better off with Kyle - and Kyle with him. But Ste, for Harry, is a 100 times better than what James is. Of that I am convinced (to which extent it is possible to be so about fictional characters who are not very well rooted in reality nor reflect real types of people).

Bad thing it's already confirmed that the Starry wedding is still happening in October, otherwise this would've been the perfect moment for Jarry development.. it's pretty obvious harry is actually starting to have feelings for james, so the writers could develop it rn, since it's the best moment.

Don't make out James is the perfect person for Harry that would be toxic Ste may have hurt Harry in the past but at least he didn't pimp him out Hollyoaks love Starry and are going to keep them together and I'm glad because despite their problems they are a good couple and I love them together.

Honestly, I have problems believing in Harry when he calls James a friend, cause with their past, I don`t think they would have been in real life - after what James did to him. Not only did James solicit sexual favors from Harry, exploiting Harry at his most vulnerable - when he was desperate to obtain money for somewhere decent to live, to prevent Ste from starting selling drugs (not an ideal career path - and certainly not for an ex addict) with the same purpose. So first James most cruelly exploited Harry, offering him £10 000 for a night of sex - which he afterwards (in one of the most brainless storyline developments in soap history, since in real life James would risk not only his job, but his career and freedom should it emerge he both had solicited sexual favors from the son of his client and blackmailed him about it afterwards) used that to extort Harry into betraying his own father, by convincing him to let James` own mother buy Harry`s father`s business. That is three serious betrayals. Fist the solicitation, then the extortion and lastly forcing Harry to betray his own father. How on earth can you imagine Harry to have even a friendship with James - far less a romantic relationship with him - with that history between them? I know of real life sons and daughters of businessmen who has avoided bankruptcy by last minute buyouts, afterwards resent the people or companies taking on the debt burden, by buying the company, regarding them to have stolen the childrens inheritance. And here we are talking about honest business deals, no prostitution, extortion or betrayal in the mix. A pure and simple buyout where a new owner, with bigger pockets, is in position to provide the guarantees needed for the creditors not to have the company declared bankrupt. So instead of the former owner going bankrupt, he became free of debt and only lost the company. Had the company been demanded bankrupted by the creditors, because of the additional debt trying to save it, the former owner would have lost everything. But by selling the company to a competitor, he got enough for it to pay back his personal debt, so he saved both his house, pension savings and more. Only the company was lost to him. Everybody knows the buyout was a personal favor and kind gesture - and not an ordinary business transaction. Apart from the former owner`s grown up children, who feel they have been deprived of their inheritance, and bad mouth the new owner every chance they get. So with this situation in mind, I simply don`t believe there ever would have been a chance for Harry to feel anything other than hate and resentment towards James. The fact James conned Harry`s father out of his restaurant while being paid to look after Tony`s legal interests, is bad enough. But add to that the prostitution and extortion, and I am convinced Harry would have hated James with the same passion as Sami does. Harry and Sami should have been in partnership to destroy James - that would have made sense! Not Kyle, who didn`t know either of them before that silly storyline development began.

Since Harry and Ste had agreed not to have anymore secrets, I think Ste is justified in his anger to discover both that Harry is in contact with James and that Harry also has been prostituting himself. Harry shouldn`t have agreed not to meet James, unless he intended to live up to it. But Ste should also blame himself for not having been able to provide enough money for the four of them to get buy without Harry`s income from selling himself.

Such a shame that TPTB of HO destroyed the coupling of Starry with the endless SLs of cheating, mistrust, prostitution and relentless conflict. But that is what HO are good at these days, damaging popular couples to the point where it pretty pointless in them being together (yes I'm looking at you Nancy and Darren!) Though I laugh that anyone would think that Harry and James would be any better. Like the character of James if you will but don't be in denial that he isn't as toxic a character in HO and for Harry. If Starry were to break up for good then I would hope that HO have the idea down the line to bring in a new love interest for Harry. Although I don't hold much belief that this is gonna happen.
