Sweet history lesson. If I’m not mistaken, they were first used with the 1/24 tamtech series and the steering servo was permanently attached to the unit.

Yeah you are likely correct. I have never actually seen a 1/24 Tamtech in person tbh, haha!

Also seen them in the Manual of my first RC car the M02L. The CPR units where also often on the outside of the boxes as suggested hop ups. I now bought some Sanwa SV-Plus Zero. Kind of a modern version of these units.

Yeah seems they were shown for well over a decade on many cars.

I had a stick radio/CPR set that came with an RC Boys combo I got from ebay, un opened quite a few years ago. Again, 27mhz, the universal fixed frequency band. I ended up putting all the electronics in a Black edition Grasshopper 2 that the wife got me for christmas, year before last and to be honest, in 1990 I'd of been chuffed with the smooth.

It seems they were all 27 band. I have yet to see anything 75...just madness when you think only 6 cars could run with 27 (in the US anyway).
@Rex_Stuph Жыл бұрын
@@AMPROEngineering Yeah, we used 29mhz for surface radios here (using 75 would get you in trouble with the military , ah, fixed frequency days), but yeah, seems 27 is a global free for all band. All Tamiya branded Futaba were on it, same as Traxxas. Bit of a cluster f' lol. The future is very good for rc, at least.

I have several Rookie Rabbits, one had been painted black and has has been used by me the most. Unfortunately the clear plastic dust cover has a small piece broken where the antenna tube goes. The second one has been finished to box art and I've bearly touched it. The third one is still in box! The box is a little beat, and instead of a cardboard lower, it's moulded styrofoam. I haven't used this car at all and I think it's been bearly used at all.

I have one too that I have a lot of things planned for.

Wow never heard of those before! How things roll around with the combined units creeping back in again! Tamiya ahead of its time hey?

Aint that the truth!

I have one of them but it is not working so I have to try and figure out what is wrong with it. Very neat units and I do not ever remember seeing any back in the day either outside of the magazines ads and stuff.

Same. I had never seen one in the hobby shop and when I asked, the owner told me they were expensive and crap. Hahah! Definitely for the price, you could get better.

How did you connect your Tx to the cpr Rx/speed control?
@AMPROEngineering3 ай бұрын
You just need to use the same crystals on the same band with a Tamiya/Futaba radio. These were 27mHz.
