Meg, I am so happy you did the painting!!! Now I understand the layout of your dreams. It was hard before to understand what was where and why, now it all makes sense. You may be able to bring the drawing back into future videos to update your viewers on your progress or changes, helps all of us feel like we are on the journey with you and your family. Thank you. Keep up the great work. Lastly John great welding, I too enjoy playing with the my little welder and find it entertaining at the same time. lol

Meg...... you are right. You remembered the suggestions in the comments and saved much heartache. It is heart-warming watching you two interact in such an encouraging manner.

Meg, Loved the watercolor. Made it much more clear to me all the locations that we have been seeing.

Hi Guys, In hot weather, parking the attachments in deep shade will usually prevent heat from pressurising the hoses, thus making it difficult to re-attach the unit.

You guys are up to similar shenanigans as I am. I live in a houseboat on land in the hills of TN ... building a saw mill at the moment to make the lumber for the house build. I finished my roads for the most part. You guys are doing pretty good from what I have seen so far. Keep it up.

Awesome!! No purchase necessary !! Glad the grapple is solo capable… sometimes 👍

Maybe you can slide a clip under the button so it can’t be pressed when the grapple off? Easy kill switch no wiring.

Thanks for helping with this annoyance! I'm definitely going to add a kill switch if I have a problem grazing the button.

You are right Meg, it takes a sec to process what and how to shape a road! Since you are starting road work… here’s a 10min general engineering video. He kinda uses a sand castle model too and a simple cut and fill graphic for slopes. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnquZ3xshppre8U

Everyone is right. Relieve the pressure both before removing and to install, relieve the pressure on the tractor the same way. I turn on the key but don't start the tractor to switch back and forth while relieving the pressure.

You can pres the button and release pressure to the couplers

Forgot to say on the previous video that the float position relieves the system pressure.

If you push the button, the only way to relieve the pressure is to loosen the coupler on the hose. You will loose a little oil.

Always decompress all valves when you leave your machine. Even for a few moments. One kid with a finger in the wrong spot, and an other child fiddling with the handel. You are responsible. Always decompress all hydraulic cylinders. If you have a connector teasing you, give the little spot in the middle a dash with a hammer, and out comes a bit of the pressure.

I like your tip about decompressing, especially with the little ones with curious fingers.

Meg and Jon, what is the elevation gain from the beginning of the driveway to where your house will be built? I don't think the camera does justice on the steepness of your land.
@WalnutsandWineberries
@WalnutsandWineberries 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jeff, it's about a 200 ft. elevation change from where the garden is to the top of the mountain, where we want the house to be. You're right, the camera does no justice.

You guys are doing a great job! Loving the videos! Weird question for you... where are you getting your music from? The opening track to this episode grabbed me in both its haunting melody and the rich harmonic content of that Dobro. My Sound Hound app told me it was "Northside - Blacklake Waters", but when I looked that up on KZbin, it wasn't. Then I got sucked into a Dobro rabbit hole on KZbin. LOL. Thanks!

It got Northside correct, but the song is "SunRise". kzbin.info/www/bejne/qp67kHSeabuDiK8 We get our music from epidemic sound and we've been pleased with the selection they offer. That song makes me think of cowboys at a campfire sipping on some spiked coffee. haha!

Why haven't you put that sawmill on a concrete pad yet? Just curious. It would be so much easier to keep it level and true if it was on a pad so it can't settle everytime it rains.

I'm going to, John. All in due time. Moving it to a different location and might extend the rails while I'm at it.

I had that happen the first time I took the backhoe off. tony's tractor adventure let me know. I had to relieve the pressure on the backhoe.
@WalnutsandWineberries
@WalnutsandWineberries 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Bryce, that backhoe can be tricky. I'm sure the 25 is similar to the 24. I always rest mine on a cinderblock when it's removed. You can tap those poppet quick connects if they're stiff. I've certainly done that about a dozen times and found the mounts for the backhoe (the pins) fit perfectly inside the female quick connects to tap the pressure out if needed. Hope you're well!

You want the answer to the grapple pressure problem? Step one: Lower grapple to the ground. Step Two: Shut engine off. Step Three: turn key on without starting engine. Step Four: Actuate the third function back and forth. Step Five: Turn key off. Step Six: Remove grapple hoses. Step Seven: Disconnect grapple from frontend loader. Done.

Thanks, that's pretty much where I'm at. Maybe my relay is supposed to be hooked to accessory because a lot of guys have said to turn the key to accessory, but mine will work on constant power. The trick is not to accidentally hit that button when the grapple is off. Thanks for taking the time to share. 👍

This! I have the 37 and my button works with key off. The 24s may be wired to accessory. Tractor off, accessory on, third function depressed, curl both ways. No pressure at third function remotes.

You should really have two male fittings on the tractor side of the diverter. Thst female is going to collect tons of dirt and there way hard to clean than the male flat face you have.
