No words spoken and it works! Excellent video. The CRV looks fairly easy to change oil in. Oil filter is in a good location and not dripping oil on everything else.

Yes, decided to just do it with action vs with words. Yes, not too bad. Just wish these new cars didn’t have the silly cover that usually ended up coming of anyway due to dips. Thanks for watching and welcome to ICZER GARAGE. Plenty more videos on car content. Maintenance, repairs, how to, car meets and race event. Have a great one!

Great video and like it with just the music and descriptions of what to do along the way. Super helpful hint for you since you are using the same oil drain pan that I have. To completely prevent splashes from the oil coming out, go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy a washable 'cut to fit' air filter that you would use for your house. Cut it to size to fit the inside of the oil drain pan and enjoy no more splashes!

Welcome to the channel! Thanks, thanks for the feedback and thank you for the friendly advice! As of lately I’ve been doing this at Costco they have those cardboard that separates the toilet paper and paper towels… I grab me some of those and I use those and dispose of them when I’m done… Quick little hack as well. Happy new year! 2024! Feel free to check out the other videos as well 🙏🏽🤙🏽

This beat had me feeling like I was about to perform the absolute HARDEST oil change to date! Ended up writing a diss track to the seized screws on that cover plate on my wife's CR-V. Good ups on the tutorial tho!

Glad you like the video! Props to you making a diss track about those silly screws… I know they say it’s all about ergonomic or what not but the fact that the matter is, I don’t like having to do extra stuff just to do an oil change. But definitely not the hardest oil change to do. Thanks for checking out the video greatly appreciate it! Welcome to the channel and please do not hesitate to watch the other videos.

Yes! Super unnecessary steps to do such a simple job. I ended up stripping one for the screws on the cover plate so I just have to cut around it to get the damn thing off. But yes this tutorial was super helpful. Oil changes in general are for the most part similar but you just don't want to assume. Thanks!

I knew the torque setting for the drain bolt is around 30, so I got that right. A have very weak hands and wrist from arthritis so I tend to over tighten with tools. I use a torque wrench now to make I never over tighten critical things I could get damaged. I know the oil filter should be hand tight, but that is tough for me to know. I think the torque setting is around 8psi. Not many people are going to take the time. I saw a great video that said 8psi is equal to a 3/4 turn of the filter when you feel the seal touching the housing. I can easily do that with my weak hands and wrists. Thanks!

Awesome! You are on it! Sorry to hear about you arthritis. Yeah, hand tight pretty much works. Learned that since I was younger. The important part is also making sure u don’t double gasket. Especially if you’re using an aftermarket oil filter on there. Appreciate your feedback! Thank you for checking out the video and thank you for stopping by the channel. Please be sure to check out the other videos as well.

@@TeamICZER Thanks for your response! I have never seen the gasket not come off with the filter, until the last 2 oil changes that I probably over tightened. Thanks for the everything!

wonder if that metal cover thingy is really necessary? Looks like a pain in the arse to get back on correctly, what with some of the screws being regular philips screws, and some others just a quarter-turn screw thingy.

Hello! Happy new year! Thank you for the question. It isn’t too bad to put on at times. what makes it hard to put on is that rocks get in between the screws and sometimes even get the form from people bottoming out on dips. Well Honda put it there A reason. And the reason is for aerodynamics and efficiency (less drag). But I’m not sure how really much it makes of a difference. To be honest if it were my car and it got deformed somehow I would leave it off versus buying another one because you have to buy the whole thing complete with the splash shield. Thank you for watching the video and thank you for your question! Have a great day!

Can someone please tell how to change the SEPERATE maintenance minder items on the 2.4 ? I need a tire rotation in the middle of a new oil change, if I reset the tire rotation, it's gonna reset the oil which I don't want to do.
@TeamICZER
@TeamICZER 2 жыл бұрын
Hello. Thanks for stopping by ICZER GARAGE. Yeah to be honest I was never really a fan of these new maintenance minder resets. But if you go to the infotainment screen… hit the home button, hit settings, then hit vehicle, then scroll down to the maintenance icon button. From there you should see an icon that says select reset items. Once you hit that you should be able to choose what to reset as long as it’s there and available to be reset. Yeah that’s the reason why I’m not a fan of this system. Because sometimes it does seem to reset but you don’t want to reset. The system isn’t perfect there are bugs in the system. I would check to see if there might even be a software update needed for your vehicle. Hope that helps.

What type and how many tons of Jack do you use and recommend plz reply thanks
@TeamICZER
@TeamICZER 4 ай бұрын
I use a 3.5 ton jack. Which is slightly overkill for the gross vehicle weight of the vehicle but the more Tonage for Jack that you have the better. In my opinion. But more importantly, it doesn’t matter what Jack you’re using. Be sure to always use jackstands along with using a jack. Never ever trust a jack by itself.

what kind of oil are you using and how often do you change oil? thank you. great vid hpny
@TeamICZER
@TeamICZER 2 жыл бұрын
Hi 👋 Mobile1 which is full Synthetic. 0w-20 as per service manual and oil cap. About 5,000 with full synthetic for oil change internals… u can push it even more than that. Honda also has the maintenance minder/ oil life percentage on the dash…. But the one thing people over look when going between oil changes is checking the oil dip stick. By checking the oil at least once a month or so often you’ll know if the oil level is low or condition of the oil. Thanks for the question and watching our video.

Black oil (outgoing) normal for this year and model?
@TeamICZER
@TeamICZER 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is normal for most cars to have to oil black in color when it’s oil change time. If it came out amber in color most likely oil did not need to be changed. Honda does have an oil dilution issue (fuel mixing with the oil). From what I heard I think a software update (reflash) to the PCM (power control module) is their remedy for that issue. Check for service bulletins. Thanks for your question.
