Jonathan is so hilarious. You must teach him about vlogging. I'll be a subscriber for sure. It would be normal to think us scandinavians to dislike big cities and french to love them. I also miss to visit a lot when I travel. When I was in Stavanger I was going to take a photo of my bike with the swords in stone in the background. Top crowded when I was in the city and totaly forgot that and escape to Lysebotn.

I agree with you Kenneth, because I too see the beauty in new experiences. I think Jonathan is just getting tired of the traveling, and finds it all overwhelming. Some people are built for world traveling for long periods of time, and some people enjoy world traveling for a finite, well defined period of time. Seeing that Jonathan's end date is in sight he's more anxious to get back home. I've travelled with someone like that, once the forward motion is over and the return trip home has started every day that person would get more intolerant of every little thing. Rather than continuing enjoying the riding. Can't wait to see where else you venture to.

Guys , I thought this video would be just average , BUT, you made us laugh so much. Slyfox , we could see his pain and can relate. Scenery and off-road and open spaces are so much better than cities and history. When Jonathan said that bit about the 'bad joke and that one has to explain' ....oh that was really good. You are like an odd couple who have been married and argue , but in a good way haha. Well done. It turned out really well.

Part of traveling is seeing new places and meeting new people, that is how Kenneth met Johnathon. I think Kenneth is very patient with Jonathon because he is too negative. I think that is why some adventure riders I follow travel solo, Charley Sinewan, Pedro Mota (although he is now riding in Poland with a female companion on his TransAlp), and itchyboots which was the first one I started watching. I don't think Jonathon could keep up with her. I also liked watching C-90 adventures and he and his partner splitup on their Alaska to South America trip when they got to Washington or Portland because of their different riding styles. she would make too many stops for photos and he wanted to make more miles so they split up on good terms. But to each, their own, I admire Kenneth for being patient with Jonathon, I couldn't.
@RidetheBean
@RidetheBean 2 жыл бұрын
😂 yeah we all have our preferred way of riding and traveling. I am pretty new to moto travel, so I like trying all kinds of things. I was very different traveling with Jonathan than traveling solo, but ai wouldn’t say one is better than the other. Just different. I had a lot of fun traveling with Jonathan. We got along pretty well and we became good friends. I think we’ll stay friends for a long time. We had a lot of good talks and discussions about everything, and we mostly agree on things. We just have different preferences when It comes to certain things. But traveling together one has to make compromises, and some days I challenged him to go out out of his comfort zone, and some days we did what he wanted and stayed in hotels or did other things. I think we worked well together and we’ll probably travel together again. I also like to follow all of those people. Haven’t gotten to see to much lately since a I’ve been on the road myself, but they are very inspiring to me. Itchy boots and Pedro mota were the ones who inspired me to start traveling this way in the first place. Although I have a loooomg way to go before I can match their guts and adventure lust. 😅

@@slyfoxADV I try to avoid cities for slightly other reason. For me risks of an accident or theft are considerably higher. This is a risk of every capital or big city. Everybody is different which is good thing.

A litle bit of Praça do Comércio history On December 1, 1640, the old square saw the end of the Iberian Union with the arrest of the Duchess of Mantua and the death of Secretary of State Miguel de Vasconcelos, who was thrown from a palace window into the Terreiro. In the earthquake of 1755, where the buildings that make up Terreiro do Paço are located today, there was the Royal Palace, in whose library were kept 70,000 volumes and hundreds of works of art, including paintings by Titian, Rubens and Correggio. Everything was destroyed. The precious Royal Archive with documents related to oceanic exploration, among which, for example, numerous letters from the discovery of Brazil and other ancient documents were also lost. On February 1, 1908, King D. Carlos and his son, Príncipe Real D. Luís Filipe were murdered as they passed through the square. In the 1910 Revolution, the square witnessed the landing of the Navy at Cais das Colunas to occupy strategic locations in the city. On October 5, 1910, in Praça do Município next to the terreiro, the Republic was proclaimed. On February 18, 1957, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom disembarked at Cais das Colunas, on her visit to Portugal. During the Estado Novo regime, some of the speeches by the President of the Council, Oliveira Salazar, were given at the windows of the ministries, namely on August 27, 1963, in a grandiose demonstration of support for Portuguese overseas policy. On April 25, 1974, the square witnessed one of the episodes of the revolution that overthrew the government of Marcello Caetano and the Estado Novo.

Hi Kenneth! As a coffee expert, what are your thoughts on weasel coffee, and also the need to pass brewed coffee through a paper filter? Thanks!
@RidetheBean
@RidetheBean 2 жыл бұрын
😅 weasel coffee? Do you mean Kopi lewak? If so then ai think it is terrible! First of all the quality is usually shit. Pun intended 😅 But the vast vast majority of it is produced by torturing animals through force feeding. So I think it should be talked about a lot more because almost everyone has head of this coffee, but nobody know the backstory to it. It’s expensive and in demand because of marketing, but like so much else is extremely unethical. What do you mean by “need to pass brewed coffee through a paper filter”? Do you mean filtering it twice? I’ve never done that so ai have no opinion. But a paper filter removes 99% of the oils and fats that are bad for your body. So I’d recommend using a filter for your everyday coffee. Just like eating bacon, it’s fine to drink unfiltered coffee now and then, but not every single day 😅

Built between 1731 and 1799, by royal determination, the Águas Livres Aqueduct constituted a vast system for capturing and transporting water by gravity. Classified as a National Monument since 1910, it is considered a remarkable work of hydraulic engineering. The completion of this work involved resorting to the Águas Livres water springs, which are part of the Sintra mountain basin, in the Belas area, northwest of Lisbon. The route chosen coincided, in general terms, with the route of the ancient Roman aqueduct. Its construction was only possible thanks to a tax called Real de Água, levied on essential goods such as olive oil, wine and meat. The system, which withstood the 1755 earthquake, is composed of: A main section, 14 km long, starting at Mãe de Água Velha, in Belas, and ending at the Mãe de Água das Amoreiras reservoir, in Lisbon Several secondary sections intended to carry water from around 60 springs Five galleries to supply around 30 fountains in the capital In total, the Águas Livres Aqueduct system, inside and outside Lisbon, reached about 58 km in length in the mid-19th century, and its waters ceased to be used for human consumption from the 1960s onwards. XX. The extraordinary arcade of the Alcântara valley, with a length of 941m, is composed of 35 arches, including, among these, the largest arch in stone, in the world, with 65.29 m high and 28.86 m wide. .

Why are you coming to attack me personally when I only gave my opinion on your city ? Am I not allowed to dislike it ? Do I necessarily have a lack of culture if I don’t like being in crowded tourist places where some people try to sell you drugs every 200m (yes I hate this people, that’s a mistake ?). And your shitty argument about imagining myself in India I’ll just ignore it… This is precisely why I don’t like social networks because people like you feel obliged to open their mouths and judge a person because they don’t have the same opinion as them and believe they know them on a 30mn video.
