E90 N55 BMS INTAKE INSTALL (SOUND CLIP)

Me and my bro were installing the burger motorsports intake (not sponsored) which was one of the easiest mods to install and yes the sound really is insane.

If its open, do you think the heat from the car interrupts and causes hot air to enter rather than cold?

Yes of course Its not as good as stock in bringing in colder air but it does breathe more efficiently and also sounds better.

i struggle to understand how this benefits the engine in any way....great noise though but i wouldnt be surprised if it dies quicker!

It doesn't really benefit it it gives you some more sound and technically it's more efficient to breathe

Did you notice a change in the oil temp ? I would suspect this to be hotter as the air flow is taking in hot air as well from the engine bay with there being no cover for this unit@@DavidBarahonaBMW

No difference but I have a 7.5 inch VRSF intercooler which cools down the Temps tremendously even with this intake even with stock intercooler I didn't see any dips

Yea I had a leak near the inlet in the bottom and it kind of went away

Is all this noise coming from an all stock n55 set up except the new filter?

Nop! He has POV and turbo chargepipe. Which makes the tsssss sound that you hear.

@@AhmedHadiPADI_scuba_instructor i know a late reply but a stock n55 sounds like this with a BMS intake. Chargepipe does not have a BOV like the N54.

yo so mine stopped sounding like that the little pshhh after you let go of the pedal and the instake is cleaned and oiled. Any tips?

Make sure you look for any boost leaks maybe even some vaccum leaks, and also mine sounds extremely loud because I bought the cowl filters on top so try removing the cowl and see how that sounds. Hope this helps.

@@DavidBarahonaBMW ah gotcha i had it smoke tested by a shop the only air leak they found was the valve cover and i got it replaced but still no intake sound and no codes or anything

Maybe check for kinks in some lines, check to see if ur charge pipe or intake pipes are secured tightly but other than that I'm as stuck as you are because i dont have the car in front of me but talk with some friends or mechanics maybe they see something you might not. Hope this helped 🙏

@@DavidBarahonaBMW i found what the shop told me the last time i took it “FOUND VERY SMALL AIR LEAKS FROM THE AFTERMARKET CHARGE PIPE ORING TO THE THROTTLE BODY AND INTERCOOLER PIPE CONNECTION ORING ON THE THROTTLE BODY SIDE. THE SMALL LEAKS ARE NOT CAUSING AN ISSUE AT THIS TIME.” How would i go about that replacing the o rings? I could start off with that possibly?

@Official TD u should go to auto parts store and buy a set of o rings and swap the missing ones out and then see what happens.
