They made the same car in 2012 as well. 2 year run on the E chasis with the N55's.

My understanding is that the 2012-2013 E9X N55 vehicles were only the coupe and convertible.

A bit late to the party, but did you have increased performance after installing it? BTW, thanks for posting actual data on some of your videos...too many out there "feel the improvement" instead of backing it up with actual data. I'm looking for options to boost performance on my '20 BMW X2 xDrive28.

A bit late to the party but I’ve seen a lot of places saying it has a rough idle after install without a tune. Basically if I put it on my stock 335 will it run badly without a tune
@TheCarEnthusiast5 ай бұрын
Honestly I don’t know if I ever ran it without a RaceChip tune, but I never had a rough idle, and the RaceChip is an off-the-shelf tune that’s definitely not as precise as custom tunes.

Can you do a tutorial on how to clean the engine bay. I'm scared to pressure wash it because of the bms air intake and the little tray from the previous air intake might collect water. Thank you :)

I would love to! Unfortunately I have already sold this car. Thank you for your interest!

Do you have a BOV on the car as well? If so which one?

No I don’t, that noise is just from the intake

Do you think it would be possible to trim the air box cover to fit back on?

Probably not in a way that it would look okay or seal properly

I have a 2011 335i and I want it to make cool turbo noises or what ever. Any idea on what mods I should do 🌝

I would start with this intake or another type of intake. It really unleashed the turbo wastegate noises for me!

I did not, although I did put a tune on it shortly after installing.

Has this got a blow-off valve installed?

Nope. All that great noise is from the intake alone.

@@TheCarEnthusiast So is the turbo spool noticeably loud when accelerating? Cuz that’s exactly what I am looking for
@TheCarEnthusiast Жыл бұрын
@@kris985 it’s definitely a little louder, but the most noticeable difference is letting off throttle

I think this design will work much better if it had a cover over the filter pulling cooler air from the front of the motor instead of the cabin it's worth investigating and can be made make shift

The thing is, turbocharged cars really don’t need colder air sources because the turbo’s job is to condense the air, and for naturally aspirated cars the point of colder air is denser air. So the main difference with this intake design is just the sound
@markt9438 Жыл бұрын
@@TheCarEnthusiast I have a BMW and it runs much better when it's cooler once he gets over 140° inlet you can see a big difference so I'm in the process of making a tunnel ram right to the grill, instead of pulling hot air from the radiator.

Did you get a CEL after installing the intake?
@TheCarEnthusiast3 жыл бұрын
I didn’t get any codes after I installed this intake, most likely because I made sure not to unplug the MAF sensor from the harness.
@markt94382 жыл бұрын
Unplugging that sensor will not give you a code if you start a car up without it plugged in that's when you get the code and that's just the way you would test that sensor if it was working or not

No codes, no tune. Plug and play! Although you would get more power out of the engine with a tune, but it's not needed.
