The EA-18G Growler is the most advanced airborne electronic attack aircraft, capable of operating from an aircraft carrier or land base. The Growler was developed to replace the US Navy EA-6B Prowler aircraft, which entered service in 1971 and retired in March 2019.
The EA-18G Growler has a maximum takeoff weight of 29,000kg and a top speed of Mach 1.8. It has a combat range of over 800 nautical miles and can carry a variety of weapons, including air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground missiles, and bombs. The aircraft has various electronic warfare systems, including an active electronically scanned array radar system, electronic warfare pods, and an integrated jamming system. The Growler also has a two-person cockpit, with a pilot and electronic warfare officer.
