Yeah probably be a good rally game I wish games had a thing where you are super slow on a stage compared the regular time and get overtaken or if you are going faster than the average speed you overtake a car than if the roads is bad once and a while throughout the rally you see a car on the side and a co driver signaling you to slow down and go on a side of a road and triangle on the ground than fans close up illegally like real life and you get pushed over by fans after you flip than if you go into the fan area the fans run away from the car than in group b rally you have to be cautious on driving to not hit people and that can be turn off than the damage would be realistic and grip is realistic and there is different types of radios on different cars and different English co drivers different language co drivers like 3 co drivers each language and each gender and also flags on the side and more but that would to hard for rally games

I wouldn’t call EA WRC bad, but it doesn’t live up to the hype. Graphics need big upgrade, performance issues, no special stages. WRC Generations looks better, but the sound in that game is terrible/non existent. WRC 9 was the best one IMO. Hopefully Codemasters brings more to this game in the coming months.

I think that WRC 23 EA looks more like WRC Generations. It has bad rain and snow like in Generations. Physics is more arcade in WRC 23. There are not much stones near the road. I was wondered when I passed Greece 20+ km sector for the first try. It was one of the hardest tracks in WRC Generations.

They own Codemasters now, they can do what they like. Same story for FIFA since they acquired that license. All the WRC games were on offer last week and I took the chance to grab some. Hopefully they will be on offer again before they go.

I think that problem is 3rd person view. I played in cockpit view or view from the hood, and this way EA WRC 23 looks great! I just finished long distance career on WRC2, and I'm so impressive. Trees look like real in Croatia, Kenya looks so perfect (I hated in WRC Generations).

To me it feels like EA told Codemasters to limit the quality of trackside scenery visuals (the LOD on scenery density is about what youd expect to be like half a mile from the track grade on a long shot camera etc Ultra preset is like low on prior games), and just focus on the road handling and force feedback, so that they have excuses to milk visual improvements over the next 4 years of sequals, and to me looks and plays worse than Dirt Rally 1 and 2 by a lot, just seems like theres little sense of speed etc. The biggest offense is the total lack of destructible scenery physics even things like mud or snow banks act like they made of stone walls, right down to the little things like a barb wire fence being unbreakable???? how??

I have 24 hours in EA WRC so far and have had nothing but fun. The driving is way better than in Generations. Sure I'd like some city stages to drive too, but your description of the overall experience of the game does not match my experience at all. Let's hope EA allows Codemasters to keep improving the game over the next few years instead of releasing a new game every year.

I agree for the most part, but EA WRC nailed the sound. If you want a sense of speed in EA WRC, use the bonnet view, which what I play rally games in. EA WRC actually has seasons, if you want the brown leaves etc., pick autumn season. We need a performance patch asap, some locations, like Mediterraneo, have horrible frame rate and screen tears like crazy.

I don't think seasons directly change traction/grip, as in relation to road temperature. If the road has ice/wet for sure, but I think that's as far as they went.

it's not your fault... but, im sick to death of hearing about the sound. yes sound is important, but everything else is dogwater. the stages are pathetic. the lighting, the physics, fucking everything sucks. but oooh, the sound goes broooom! engine sounds don't make a great playing game. engine sounds don't make up everything a game needs to be immersive. the fact that we are heading into 2024 and these companies have more money than kt racing should make better sound, graphics, physics and stages a given. it's pure laziness and greed. fuck em if they don't overhaul this.

One thing that helps make the game look a bit nicer is playing the stages in the season that corresponds with the real WRC. If you go to Championship mode it'll choose the most authentic season, weather and time of day for each stage (Rally Japan takes place in Autumn for example). This game definitely lacks polish and certain locations look like they had more love than others but hopefully the devs stick with it 🤞

I can't quite put my finger on it but the driving in EA WRC doesn't seem as fun or as satisfying like in Dirt Rally 2.0. I have not played generations but did play 8 and 10 always felt they had great tracks. What let those games down was the rather weak engine sounds which EA/Code masters definitely do a lot better imo.

I agree Generations looked much better graphically. I really enjoyed that game. Regarding the stages, the cool thing with EA WRC which they really deserve credit for is that all the stages are replicas of existing real world stages. That’s pretty rad, because now when I watch the real WRC coverage I recognise the stages and can follow along from memory. Generations, while having enjoyable stages for sure, they were mostly fictional (except for the Fafe stage in Portugal which was a true replica as well). I was also quite critical towards EA WRC pre-launch, but it is a very good game which I think combines many good aspects from Dirt Rally 2.0 and WRC Generations into one package, minus the graphics which definitely can be improved and probably will be in future incarnations.

I'll share one MASSIVE POSITIVE about this game. I can really see how desperate these sim racing "influencers" are that they would put their name behind this garbage. Traxion, ggovertake and especially JIMMY BROADBENT ought to be ashamed of themselves for duping so many people into buying this TRASH. The only guy I can really trust is GamerMuscle and Alex Gillon, but even Alex kinda went soft for all the fanboys out there. EA have once again ruined a good franchise.

Well honestly played both a handfull time. And im missing the simulation aspect the most. Like slick tyres on raining conditions and tyre degradation. So much that wrc generations has done better. But cant complain wrc from ea feels refreshing and grapically and sound wise is not bad at all. Its at its starting stage. There is still much optimization that needs to be done.

Did you turn off all assists and turn on hardcore damage? Because this sounds completely off from my experience playing. I have a hard time not popping a tire, and tire wear has a noticeable effect on how my car drives. I have not yet driven in rain, though. But so far, different conditions have provided a different experience.

@@jayjaygolden5123 Without assists the game is extremely close to a sim... driving on tarmac in the rain is brutal on hairpins but the game does simulate how the modern 4WD cars are extremely grippy on the road and yes, if you hit something at the wrong angle you're popping your tyres almost every time... The bug fixing needs work but as a game it's actually the best rally game I've ever played by a mile... huge stages of real roads, tons of really well made cars, a decently good career mode where they do implement a way to use all kinds of cars and not only official WRC cars... plus the multiplayer in clubs is great if you leave out the massive amount of cheaters that literally run every stage at top of the table time trial times without a single mistake... I mean I am top 30-50 worldwide in most time trial stages and never won a multiplayer event... that's absurd, isn't it? Never even been top 3... and as I said I'm a very fast rally driver... the only explanation I can plausibly believe is that they're cheating... nobody is that "perfect"... hell, real life rally drivers make mistakes... how the fuck do these guys never make any???

japan is simply not fun in ea wrc , it’s just endless roads for miles . In wrc 10 it was incredible. I think Dirt rally 2 had the best rally feel and insane speeds , old wrc had the best tracks , and the new wrc has probably the best car physics

Just picked up WRC Generation this summer sale on Steam, it's really good! I love how the tarmac surface feels and I can feel my car's weight on lands in WRC generation. I am a 700+ hours DR2.0 player.

Thank God I don't have Play 5 and I didn't buy EA Sports WRC, because they have had the lack of decency, I don't know if it was because of the graphics engine that they didn't release it for PS4, which is where I play lately with the simulator, I leave the PC for my things important things and music, which is my main hobby, recording and so on. I totally agree with you once I have seen the graphics and how the cars react, but if I could put video clips to demonstrate what I say it would be ideal, I go further, comparing it with Dirt Rally 2.0 Generations it comes out the winner by a landslide, in terms of cars , rallies, classics, stages and excitement. Dirt is bland, it's UNREAL, the cars drive very easily, they are clearly driven by a central axis that rotates the car, the car becomes very light, it doesn't weigh, it is surprisingly and stinking easy to recover it after for example a long jump of which if you do not have the steering correctly placed you go off the track in reality, this is generated and done very well by Generations, it is very real, I am tired of driving cars since I was 14 years old and cars once you lose them They are heavy, they are difficult to recover and you have to countersteer several times to put it back, in Dirt it seems as if the rear wheels had steering, as if all four wheels were turning and it is very easy to quickly do a section without knowing it and without a co-driver. As an example, I say that I spent several months without using the simulator and I did a section of Dirt 2.0 quickly the first time, however when I played with Generations the errors were costly, I had to start and restart again and again, it is much more realistic, That's how it is in reality... apart from the fact that the sections of Generations or WRC 10 are much more varied, beautiful and exciting with those hairpins and so on than those of Dirt 2.0, I also imagine that EA Sports WRC says that it is even worse so ...Another thing, it's a shame that one game gives you everything right away like Generations and in the other you have to pay for each rally apart from the game, in addition to paying for the cars, only forty-two and the rest you have to go to checkout if you want to use them, a shame. I agree with you even without playing, so it's not surprising, I was warning you, since EA Sports took over the WRC franchise I feared the worst, they already did it with Formula 1 and apparently they have replicated it with WRC. Formula 1 is for casual players and apparently the WRC too, they put money as the main reason and it is very sad, we will miss KT RAcing a lot, they always did a good job. Greetings.

I recently got Dirt Rally 2.0 on pc for the VR. I also recently got WRC Generations (coming from WRC 7) for the PS5 (since I just recently got a PS5 & PSVR2 + pc-adaper). Thinking of buying WRC Generations on Steam aswell. Although it is fun to drive a rally game in VR, the rally stages are soooo boring in Dirt Rally 2.0 (because the scenery doesn't change along the way). Even switching countries, you feel like you're driving the exact same rally. After playing a few hours, I feel as if I've played the whole game already. While with WRC Generations, I've played it a lot more than Dirt Rally 2.0 and I'm still surprised at the rally stages as if I'm discovering new stages. WRC 7 pulled me in already with their rally stage design and WRC Generations is just more of that. Even when losing, they are still fun to drive. Kylotonn knows what rally is about: it's you against the road. The road is the main character! Hopefully one day, I can get WRC Generations to work in VR (but that's probably a slim chance).

i recently bought wrc generations and dirt rally 2.0 and man its a blast to play these games. Many ppl say ea wrc has no soul to it and these stages. One thing i like more in ea wrc are the crispier car sounds, thats all though.

I am a huge wrc game fan but after playing ea wrc i was very disappointed with the optimisation as comparing to dirt rally 2.0 and i was expecting for a physics overhaul but noooo it was kind of step back and i actually feel like that handling of wrc 10 was even more good than the wrc generation and ea wrc. And morely the anticheat implemented by ea was unacceptable for a singleplayer game. If you want a reliable rally game play wrc 9 or 10 , dirt rally 2.0( not the asphalt stages), and Richard burns rally ( only with a wheel)

Disclaimer: I'm not trying to defend EA Sports WRC. Just wanted to clear up a few things. WRC Generations is my favorite rally game (it seems like it will stay my favorit for a while😞). EA Sports WRC runs on Unreal Engine 4 not 5. I got that one wrong too. The stages in it are apparently based on the real life stages (yes, they look that bland in real life too). I do agree, it looks worse then both Dirt Rally 2.0 and WRC Generations. I forgat to mention, the "reflections" are really intense on the CPU for some reason, so everyone playing on PC should try turning it down. I guess it's no accident that the "High preset" sets it to "Low".

The Visual presentation is super disappointing indeed. However as a sim EA Sports WRC is just better in every way. Real stages, good physics - though could arguably be even better. WRCG physics are fun with the modern cars but not realistic with any car. DR2.0 was also great and I agree looks better in many ways. Hopefully they will improve the look of WRC over time and maybe even move up to UE5.

I think that to amortize the purchase of the license, they wanted to release the game quickly and they botched the details. An example, the co-pilot's way looks like a robot. Looking forward to the next version.

Generations and 10 are amazing. I don't see why people don't get this. The tracks are so good with variety and landmarks. In ea wrc i can't even remember 1 track or landmark. Ea wrc is not bad at all though, car lineup almost as good as generations too. Also after the updates it handles pretty well

I am not hardcore gamer but like the wrc games. Wrc generations to me is good enough, except for the antialiasing problems even on 1080p resolutions. (The replays are so satisfying though, even if the driving is horrendous).

😜 if you play WRC 10 or GENERATIONS. with controller 👉🏻 go controller settings and set sensitivity to 0 “zero “ left & right . Than , before the race starts , go to car settings and input on suspension menu and select Advanced and…. - Springs to 27500 - shock absorber compression to 3000😊 shock absorber rebound to 2500 - ground tolerance 28 - camber and anti-roll bar keep 0 “Zero” . The car gonna have better control on tarmac and gravel ! Don’t forget to save , you have to do it for each car as you play 😊. For graphics on PS5 choose performance , on your TV image settings, select sharpness and set it to ZERO . On game , PAUSE and select gameplay settings and select Camera you can adjust camera chases, bonnet and others as you like , far , close the high and low … its looks another game ! and turn off dynamic , also turn ABS off . For career or season mode choose AI difficulty to 85% and keep turning up as you get good on the game till you reach 150% 🎉.

I dont mind the mediocre graphics ..it is what it is ,,,with some reshade or mods in the future can be Ok ,BUT why no one mentioned the horrendously stupid AI...actually NON EXISTENT AI,even at 100% difficulty i beat them by 10 or more minutes at the end of the rally,and im driving not at my limits. That makes the game completely soulless.

Wrc generations and 10 and 9 has the best 3rd person simcade camera of them all. I bought it again on switch, as well as my xbox series x gonna buy it for steam and ps5 to check the haptics and triggers

Absolutely 💯 the game has had multiple updates and it's significantly better than it was at launch. I definitely recommend it now. Plus it's live service so next month we are getting the 24 season as a DLC instead of having to buy a whole new game

I don't know if generations is the same but Tried wrc 10. It just suck on controller idk I tried every set up vid on youtube and still it just feels ass. The throttle and steering just feels off like even adjusting the dead zones everything. Plus the sounds just suck man and crashes have no weight that's why I kinda wanna get ea wrc but idk this shit looks like it will burn me too

Does WRC Generations still have the issues that it was plagued with for a long long time with no fix? You know what i'm talking about? That when you use the gas/accelerate pedal range to your advantage to adjust to how much thrust/power you wish to apply, you really can't. It was explained by many that the pedal is either completely at 0 or 100. Which is abnormal to these cars and causes loss of control. Well said about the graphics. I watched someone do a stage in Mexico i believe, and saw these really weird walls on both sides of the road. If you look at that Japan stage it has the same clinical straight lined edges feeling like the road is fenced in. Is this an attempt that i called for to stop people from cheating - because cheating deletes the interest of any real eSports driver to actually pay any interest. As is should be a challenge of skills, evaluation, anticipation, prediction, knowledge, setup and car handling.. and sometimes luck too.

Yes nothing was fixed with WRC Generations, the issue is also there in EA WRC but you can disable it by turning off auto clutch, which can't be disabled in Generations no matter what- part of why I dropped that game like a hot potato and stopped playing it, managing throttle in Generations with my sim rig drove me nuts.

For me it's far more about how driving the stage feels. RBR for example definitely doesn't have amazing graphics, but the graphics also aren't distractingly bad and still provide all the detail you need when focused on the stage. It's quite disappointing to see how EA WRC has such tame stages compared to the KT games though.

Generations is the only game I have come across where I can't play with my wheel and pedals (pedals controlled menu and no way to disable it) so it may as well not have existed. From the gameplay I can see though generations looks sooooo slow, like you're going for a sunday drive.
