Nice Mod! I've had to perform this MOD on transmitters before so I could use the antenna of my choosing. I wish they would put a standard SMA connector on all these transmitter so antennas can be changed out. I'm looking forward to your range test and Happy Flying!

Thx, nice Mod! What I did, was to drill a hole close to the antenna pin through the PCB. The area around is also GND. After removing the solder resist around, I got a good solder point, so I don't need extra cables. To protect the fragile antenna cable I would recommend to put a little bit hot glue at the cable side (after both cables are soldered). EDIT 2018-07-26 : Yesterday I made the range Test, I did the same before the modification. With a 5 cm antenna I got ~80% more range (perfectly good for this small copter without real FPV). If someone want to repeat the test, place your E58 in ~1m height at a fencepost (e.g.), bind, and move away with the sender directed to the copter. The copter start to blink if the signal is lost. It's important, that the copter in all tests needs to be oriented to the same direction.

great work! i have this drone, it's really nice for the money. And thanks for testing these mods for us too, I'm sure I'll be modding mine if it works out for you. Have you tried using a WiFi detector app? There's a great one called "Wifi Analyzer" (by Farproc) on the Google Play Store - it has an audible beeper/proximity detector, among other things. If the E58 still has power and is transmitting WiFi it should make it easier to find within the right range

Thanks for this video. Bought a E520S recently which comes to a sharp stop at around 60m. I wonder if the range is restricted by software (GPS based) instead of hardware? I have bought a range extender which I will try out first, and then mod antenna if required. The drone itself has an ipex connector but the transmitter is soldered and under glue :(

10ddbi antenna works with this mod and extends the range yes and only from tx wifi network extender improves the range of the fpv and flying drone with phone but there are more things you can do to improve the wifi fpv and phone range that we show in the up comming video :D

Um. I tested the mod.. It works. But. When i use my phone and fly. Above 12 meters it delays and even crashed my drone... But when i dont use phone just line of sight flight. It works fine. More like 30 meters still no delay.... Any advice on how to use the camera without interupting the mod antenna signal??? Do i need wifi repeater??

This is my third e58 Drone! The first one I was able to connect the Drone to my phone via the app then it flew out of range and I lost it! The second one I was never able to connect to the app and promptly lost that one! And now the third one I have shows that the Drone is indeed connected via the Wi-Fi on my LG Android Phone but still will not connect to the app! I have tried, Wi-Fi_Cam which the qr-code led me to from the Play Store! JY UFO and Emachine TEC! All of which show that my Wi-Fi is connected to my Android phone but when I go to the app it will not connect to the Drone or the Camera! (Please connect your wi-fi devise) what am I doing wrong?

Hello sir I recently turned my e58 on and then hit the take off button by accident and away she went prob was I panicked in the house and grabbed it in flight! Now I have one motor that won’t turn off not even when I turn the drone and controller off. It stays running at full speed? Any info would be much appreciated as I am at a loss and can’t figure out what it may be? I disassembled the drone everything looks to be normal. I’m beginning to think that it is a controller issue maybe when it was calibrating something happen when the button was hit with the drone itself appears to be all right. The other three motors will not turn on I’m guessing because of the one that is running wide open? Thank you very much

Why to keep the fake antenas ? I've done the same modification on the remote of my E511S, but its harder because its a very thin coaxial to sold on a small wifi sub-card inside.

remove the stock antenna and solder the new antenna ion that same place and add hot glue to make the joint stronger and won't break the old antenna was resisting to much that's why you didn't got the extra range the first time you did this mod
