The better way, IMHO, is to cut at the body lines on the bottom section of the plane. Cut at an angle to help lock the panel back in when it gets glued. Make sure you push the motor out from the front before cutting the panel out. You will need to use a rod to sharply tap the motor loose. Once loose from the gearbox, cut the panel out. Second option is to cut around the fuselage in between the No2 and No3 exhaust pipe feature. They glued the gearbox in pretty good on these and tough to separate from the foam.

Hi ! I,'ve similar experience with my volantex bf109, firstly, the aileron servo turned to one end once the battery connected.then i removed this servo, just to wait for the new spare part arrive. At the same time, i tried to fly the aircraft without aileron control. Oooh! Strange thing appered ~the rudder control stick had no reponse!and the aileron control stick changed to rudder control by itself! as well as the direction was reversed!! funny ha! Hi there,I have the same plane,and it’s been great for years…but the motor started ‘acting up’ at first it would only work with a ‘finger start’ then it would only run for half a second,restart,another half a second…do you reckon it’s the motor,or the ESC ? (It did take a hard knock recently,nose on,but I don’t think it’s a mechanical issue,as I can’t hear the motor,and the prop still turns,albeit for only half a second at a time…cheers)
@1nformatica2 жыл бұрын
My bet would be the motor, especially after a "close encounter"! It is a gear motor so maybe a tooth is missing. As you will need to take the plane apart anyway you can try running the motor direct from a DC supply to test. Thanks for watching, have a great day!

I put a Volantex P40 Warhawk receiver into a TopRc P51 D ( couldn't bind to the TopRC receiver with TX16S Radiomaster) and had to invert the servos for Rudder and Elevator to get it to work, but then lost the safe mode. Was wondering if I could have just desoldered the motor leads and soldered them, in reverse polarity, to each others servo controller. Meaning, the Rudder motor wires at board to the Elevator motor wires at board, while reversing the polarity also.
@MrDLRu2 жыл бұрын
To add, the servos are sitting upright in the TopRc P51 D 450mm as compared to being upside down in the Volantex Warbirds. I'm thinkin' how cool would it be to have an inverted flight safe mode function...lol.

Looks like time to hit the Boxing Day sales again M'lud! 😜 Actually you are not quite correct in saying that that board is only used in the 4Ch Sport Cub and Eachine War Birds rebrands. It is also used in the 3Ch Mini Trainstar, pusher V761-2 Mini Ranger, V761-3 Super Cub and maybe others and has the unusual programming that, when a working servo is plugged into the Aileron socket, it operates as a normal 4 channel system. But with no Aileron servo, it reverts to 3 channel with the Rudder control on the right stick. The F22 also uses the same board but the programming seems to have been altered a bit as reported by AirDOGGe. (RC Groups - Doggeslife here.) Neat work on the repair attempt though! No chance of old bleary eyed shaky fingers here attempting anything similar these days. 😁

I am thinking the momentary reverse polarity must have screwed up the programming done at the factory. But as a RC pilot, for future reference it would probably work just fine as a 3 channel aircraft if you changed a few wires around. All you would have is elevator, aileron, and throttle. This is what we call “bank and yank”. I know it has a gyro, but the gyro would have to be turned off or it won’t fly at all. BTW I found your channel while searching for electronic screwdriver tear downs and now I am subbed. Thx!

@@1nformatica Since you only changed out the Ail Servo it seems the other servo was fried. That being said it could be that the load on the Servo motor was not sensed like they do with the Propeller Motor. There are no pulses going to drive the FET that controls the prop motor without the motor connected. This can be enabled (without the prop motor) by installing a 3K resistor instead. For the Ail Servo it's hard to know for sure without that 'defective' servo in hand.

Unplugging the external servo from the brick will make it function like a 3 Channel , Left Stick = Throttle, Right Stick = RUD n ELE Try unplugging the external servo n play around with it, than turn OFF n plug in the external servo n try again to see if this resets it back to the default 4 Channel setting .. If the above fail, you can borrow a Jumper Tx n configure the tx to assign the Control Sticks correctly , this should probably work.. Then if it works, go buy a Jumper tx to fly the plane ..
