Thanks for the upload. Wanted to tell you I tried this mod on my son's googles and it work great. My son, who's 10 years old asked me not to cut the vent holes open but to just fish the wires through the vents. Future modder!!!

Battery mode vid! I ordered a set of these goggles based on your review and this battery mod video, and would love to drop a 1600-2000mah 1s in there. Did you happen to get a measurement of that battery "bay" area while you had the VR006s open? From the looks of that area you could add a larger capacity battery internally.

Hi Albert. Looking at your videos regarding the VR006 goggles and the goggles that comes with the Tinyhawk RTF kitt, it looks like one would be able to do the same DVR mod on the Tinyhawk goggles. Is that correct ? What do you think ?

Certainly possible but I have not opened up the TinyHawk goggles to see what connections are available,

Oh wait, it is another person who uploaded the Teardown of the Tinyhawk RFT kit. On that video the receiver module of the goggles looks the same as the one in the VR006. I think many people are interested in doing a DVR mod for the Tinyhawk Goggles. Are you going to give it a go ?

Hello back, I'm mainly wondering if the 6 pin connector will give me recording features. Your video shows you just using the 6 pin connector. Less is better I'm guessing.

Whatever I did in the video allows for recording to the DVR. I don't know what other people did so can't say if it would work or not.

I think so. You just need to tap into the audio out from the receiver. See my earlier DVR mod videos.

I have the eachine VR006 fpv hood. When watching your review I noticed that you only used the 6 pin center connector. Watching other reviews I saw people using the other 4 pin connectors reasons unknown to me. Can I use the 6 pin connector only and get the full effect of the eachine Pro DVR recorder? How did u get rid of the vr006's osd? The red channel and battery info in the left and right bottom corners on the screen!?

What you saw was the video recorded from the receiver (because of the mod I did). That video is clean and doesn't have the screen OSD. I still see the red OSD on the screen in the goggles.

I followed this and the mod update using an ocday dvr, very similar to the eachine one, and my vr006 range decreased and I experienced more breakups. The recording is also filled with black frames. I really like this mod. Hopefully there's a fix.

Seems that the DVR you are using is causing some kind of interference or it wasn't connected up properly.

Good work on your videos. inspired me to buy the DVR and do this... as my first soldering experience, ever. I dropped a glob of solder on the board and with some flux and copper wire I was able to remove it all, real clean. got all the wires soldered in the same order as you. the power lights turn on, on the goggles and on the dvr when I push the power botton. turns off fine. chargeing light turns on when I plug it in the wall to charge... but with all this, the screen wont turn on. just black... any ideas? oh and just in case your wondering, I never removed the screen from the board. I carefully just folded it out of the way, so its still plugged in just like before, real snug. Thanks

It's possible the ribbon cable got damaged somehow. That's a common mistake.

What setting do you use on your dvr recorder mine is recording on 16:9 ratio. How to Change it to 4:3 ?

You have to connect the video out from the DVR to a monitor to bring up the menu. The instructions on how to change the setting is in the manual.

Yes, you should get audio with most setups assuming your setup is transmitting audio. The last guy who asked this was wondering why he wasn't getting audio and it was because he wasn't transmitting audio... no mod can fix that! LOL

I have an FR009 DVR and I designed and printed a case for that (www.thingiverse.com/thing:2452030). I like to use it for VR006, but it has only 4 pin connection (GND, VCC, VID, AUDIO). What do you recommend which GND to use on receiver?
