Would you please consider doing a comparison video of these motors from eachine against the similar motor design that you had for your spec class motors? Specifically the long term performance/life span, and efficiency. What makes a long lasting motor? Thanks again for your channel. I'm going to brush and floss now.

I received this quad to review from BangGood recently...and my first two flights I experienced two death spirals after a snap roll to the right. Andy RC has also experienced that issue, and he has a video he put up recently where he showed the damage to the quad after a death roll. Have you noticed any of that with this quad at all? Eachine says it might be a bad motor but I'm still tinkering.
@Kabab6 жыл бұрын
I haven't had any issues like that. I would suspect it's a faulty ESC. For it to be a motor, there would need to be something wrong with the windings or wires which is rare. More likely to just be a cheap ESC made cheaply.

@@Kabab Thanks for the response. I'll keep troubleshooting and see what's to blame.
@Kabab6 жыл бұрын
@@EdRickerVlogs does it fall out the sky when it tries to stop the roll or in the middle of the roll? If it's the former like I think it is, you most likely have the ESC to blame. If it's the latter, well I've never seen the latter so it's probably the former 😁👍

Here are the two instances where it happened. The first one was my first line of sight test, and the first roll death spiraled. Worth mentioning - easiest way to go reversed motors on this is, hilariously enough, removing all four bells then moving them 90° around the quad. Sounds dumb, but that is the quickest way to get them aligned for reverse prop direction (then obviously go into the configurator and reverse that).
@Kabab6 жыл бұрын

To do what droned out described, two of the motors are threaded backwards. If you just reverse motor direction in blheli and leave it as is, petty much any contact will break the nut loose, and the best case is the honking goose noise.
@mannyvarela13266 жыл бұрын
tehllama42 I thought the easiest way to reverse motor direction was to just switch around two of the motor wires around on the esc and that would reverse the direction of the motors.

@Kabab5 жыл бұрын
Na you're not missing anything. Higher voltage on motors designed for 6s volts is lower in amps than motors designed for 4s on a 4s battery. In this case, the motors are made for 6s so running 4s on them is drastically less amps and voltage in the system.

Andy RC soldered the power wire out the side and it cleared those lines up, and I've seen at least three reviewers having death rolls mostly on 6s, they're thinking it might be that the pins don't fully seat from the FC to the esc's and on hard rolls there might be a disconnect. I'm interested cause I just received mine and can't afford a crash and smash, so I'm thinking I'd put some steel screws in with smaller standoff's so the pins will seat correctly. But I'm happy to see that there are some good things about this quad too, cause I've been wondering if I made s big mistake getting this one.

good review, Eachine is really uping their game towards better quality. I don't think, they will ever reach "perfect", cuz that is not possible in the world of FPV (everybody has different needs and wants), but they do a pretty good job of reaching the mass market. Anyway, your 170$ Quad is also missing some things, in which the Wizard would still be a great option. It basically would miss the "bells and whistles", don't needed, but great to have: buzzer, antenna, bluetooth ;) It is just hard to build something with quality for a cheap price, for eachine it is rather easy, cuz they buy and produce in bulk, which drops the prices significant. And on the other hand for most people is the question: "Do I want to spend a lot of money, when I know, it will break anyway and needs repair?!" ;)

Wow Bob, really a nice review! I was rewatching your vids about high kV/low end points for linear throttle curve and was really confused which route to go for my budget build everyday quad and almost went for a ugly Samguk. Still impressed for 6Smotor/4Spack combo and really could not make up my mind on motorchoice you giving so much options to chose from. Seeing the 4S part triggered me and I ordered these motors for my WBX-5. Pretty sure it should be a good match with the FlycolorRaptor30A. Love to try the 4S route you fancy a lot! The WBX-5 is 600gr so I guess it's worth living to keep her for a while it's very ding proof. Thank you for the review! I watch them all and use them as reference. You make me reconsider if it is worth buying high end parts. You are right the frame and motor choice is what counts most. Kind regards and Merry Christmas!

The parts that I would recommend stay 'high' end are the vtx, Rx and maybe the fpv cam because I like the eagle a lot. Maybe the video antenna could be a non-clone antenna too.

Today I flew my WBX-5 with these motors and 4s1500. I am amazed how easy it is to control this quad now! The speed is good for park flying and I noticed the props sound louder when cornering I assume the motor torque forces the props in the desired rpm range where a weaker motor cannot provide. VERY easy low flying and cornering and it. I'd even recommend this motor for a 1st build a perfect everyday quad for me. Upgrading to a racer when I feel the need for speed but I recon upgrading my QX7 gimbals to M7R is a much better route to go first before even considering DShot1200. Thank you for high lighting these motors. ps. I'm currently much in doubt for a toothpick build: I have a 2s550, GF2540, 3B1105/7500kV, Zeus in my Tomo Sidewinder and a 2s toothpick gets similar to what I have already and not ideal for indoors even at 1s... Still a great whoop conversion tough! good luck with your new website love the info! Chances are the toothpick might be worth living with 1105 +gf2540 on a whoop FC? Best regards! Erik

If I heard 'new best value motor' I would have guessed iFlight Tachyon V2 (because they're also 2208's)... but these are intriguing to say the least.
@Kabab6 жыл бұрын
I haven't yet tried the T V2 but I think there was an issue with it the last time I was inspecting it to try. I forget. I also meant to say the best value 2306 motor...but it's a damn good overall value too. The construction really is top notch. I'm sure the bearings aren't the best and the shaft isn't titanium but even a crappy 9mm bearing is pretty good and all the titanium does is save a little weight
@tehllama426 жыл бұрын
@@Kabab Totally agree. I think the overall motor formula you've espoused (tall stator, naked bottom, 4x9x4 bearings, 0.15mm laminations, magnet retaining flux ring lip, 2mm retaining bolt with big head, etc) is so dialed that even building motors like that to a price point is going to yield really usable motors. When Eachine can nail construction on something, it still suggests to me that they're back to straddling the fence between OEM and design firm - they're probably farming out (or at least partially subcontracting) a lot of parts, and whoever is building these motors is on point (and likely to get poached for other OEM work down the road). Generally good news because if that quality sticks for batches after the first run, it's going to stay hard for higher priced motors to sell without bringing more quality. I think the first Wizard price targeted setup that ships with PoPo shaft motors will be the actual critical market penetration point for that becoming the real standard going forward... which I wouldn't have thought of months ago when that was coming out, but now that the propeller infrastructure is in place, I now realize it would be entry level quads coming ready party like that which will actually initiate the ground shift in market dynamics for that.

@@Kabab Still makes me wonder if offering this as a build kit would actually be preferable - or if having Serge do a bit of a bench-racing refined pick and choose cost competitor to this would make sense. First thought would be targeting a $160 build kit on the F3.0 with the LDARC XT2306 motors, Mamba F4 stack, Caddx F2, and other stuff that works on a tight budget. Wouldn't be the best (and would almost feel bad compared to the existing $199 kit), but do a full build and configure video on it, and offer that. I think it would be a success, and more importantly it would get new pilots to look at that right next to the full on Pyro build, and realize they should just step up to the nicer hardware.

So - Motors good, rest not so good. I'll pass. Not a RTF fan anyway. Motors might be worth a try, but the thread games pretty much ruins that. Very good review though. I'm a 6" fan, have some of the Azure 6" carbon filled props coming. What would you recommendation be for a 6S motor for a freestyle quad. I've got a couple seasons in and have the basics down. Sorry to go off topic here, your last video got me thinking on the subject. After thinking over what you said about control and motor weight, I am looking at T-motor F80 Pro 2408 1900KV (the newer one) to pair with the more aggressive Azure 6145 (currently using HQ 6x3x3V1s). These are a bit heavier, but would appear to provide the torque and control needed? I'm interested more in tight control and efficiency (flight time) than insane speed. I have a set of the older F80 - the 2308 version, on the shelf, they are a bit heavier,. I'm am looking to retrofit several quads this spring (I keep 2 or 3 identical quads so I can practice consistently even if I bang one up or play with Betaflight settings, so would prefer currently available motors - cheaper wouldn't hurt my feelings either) Maybe I'm going overkill here, and there's a better choice, if so, please tell. Thanks for any thoughts on the subject you can provide!

only way to decrese the numbers of sales of such products, and get them to buy something just a little better. Is to have internet shops to sell kits at different price classes, that are always updated. The problem for beginners are always to figure out which parts to put together. And linking how-to videos for easy acces on the same site is a must. Actually it should be a "beginners page" at the webshop, "click here , buy and learn anything you need in 3 steps" kindoff thing. Out of all the videos and reviews I've seen I haven't heard of it happening yet, and I think speculation just isn't a correct way to review something. It's like if a new car came out and a reviewer said "these suspension arms are definitely going to break" It's just pure conjecture.

okay but this isn't a car it's a cheap Chinese product and I have done extensive testing on how harms break because I have designed so many frames. Literally thousands of brakes.
