My mother was a single mother for 16 years and me and my lil bro always took her for ganted, I'm now 17 and I can finally see my mom was battling so much. She WON against cancer, and I never even knew, she is raising 2 kids (me and my borther) with no child support from either one of our dead beat fathers. My mom works 12 hour shifts almost everyday. I never knew how strong my mom was until now. And this song always reminds me of her because this song defines her life so much. Became a domestic violence advocate as a result of the 5 year marriage to a man that almost took my life. Who was he the day before I met him? Broke 4 ribs pillowcase over my face w/a loaded thing in my mouth four-strangulations and butcher knife pulled on me all in under 10 minutes. But my God was with me as He promised ... "No weapon formed against me will prosper..." (Isa 54:17) and "Greater is He that's in me then he that's in the world." (1 Jn 4:4). "Thy Word is truth!" (Jn 17:17). 1 in 3 women are a victim of domestic violence ... God set my feet on a path to help such women to be free of such maniacs. It is written... "The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked, and the one who loves violence His soul hates." (Psalm 11:5). Stay strong any of you who are oppressed and suffering under the hands I'm an abusive man. Keep praying to God, and know ... He is with the oppressed. (Ps 9:9) Amen.
