Lyrics:
You can have all the money in your hands
All the possessions anyone can ever have
But it's all worthless treasure
True worth is only measured not by what you got
But what you got in your heart
You can have, you can have everything
But what does it, what does it mean
It all means nothing
If you don't stand up for something
You can't just talk the talk
You got to walk that walk yes you do
It all means nothing
If you don't stand up for something
And I'll stand up for you
And I'll stand up for you
yes I will, yes I will
You do the best to do the best that you can do
Then you can look in the mirror
proud of who's looking back at you
Define the life you're living
Not by what you take but what you're giving
And if you bet on love no way you'll ever lose
take a stand, make a stand for what's right
It's always worth, always worth the fight
‘Cuz It all means nothing
If you don't stand up for something
You can't just talk the talk
You got to walk that walk, yes you do
It all means nothing
If you don't stand up for something
and I'll stand up for you
Self respect, dignity
If that's all you got
Then you got all you need
And without that you don't have a thing
It all means nothing
If you don't stand up for something
You can't just talk the talk
You got to walk that walk, yes you do
It all means nothing
If you don't stand up for something
and I'll stand up for you

I am a 47 year old woman and I have been taking care of my totally disabled, non verbal and uses a feeding tube son for 27 years! This song and God's Mercy and Grace gives us life EVERYDAY AND helps me feel not so alone. I've listen for years and have never commented because I feel no one "really" want to hear what I have to say. It's 2021 and I am finding my voice and I just want to say THANK YOU for helping me thru the days when I had nothing to give! God's Blessing to everyone who cares!

Everyone not only wants to hear what you have to say...they NEED to hear what you have to say. Glad you've found your voice here, but I'm pretty sure that's you've really always had it. Thank you for sharing your struggle. I can't imagine what it would be like to be in your position. I wish continued strength to you. God Bless!

I’m a nurse in Australia. We are all going through some crazy stuff. Situations we never could have imagined or anticipated or trained for. I came home from work last night in tears, feeling so overwhelmed and fearful for what’s to come for me and my colleagues. We are so under prepared and our resources are diminishing by the minute. But still everyday, we get up, we put our scrubs on, and we face the worst days of our lives. This song hits so close to home. We will rise up everyday, until we beat this virus! Praying for all my fellow nurses and healthcare workers!

I had a brain aneurysm in April. Spent 3 weeks in the hospital. My wife left me 2 months later, saying she couldn't watch me die, and that taking care of me was too much responsibility. This song helped me fight through the depression. I am healing, and doing better, and I have risen up to the challenge of living! Thank you for this song.

Are you serious about not being able to take care of you. I am sorry for that. I can't believe someone would be so cold. God bless you and God got you in the palms of his hands.

Whether is my pre dementia or the mental health aspect or the pure physical ability I'm lucky to have someone who stayed and will literally pick me up when I can't eat walk or scream in pain It keeps me trying to rise up also to help him. This song is absolutely beautiful. A year ago, My mother was told she had 12 to 17 months to live. Because of end stage liver disease. It broke my heart. So after school, (Where I sadly got bullied) I would go to the hospital to visit her. I kept pushing her to keep going with her life. And I motivated her to keep going. And guess what happened? She’s alive. She was supposed to die a month ago. My mom says that I saved her life. Everything is ok now. She’s still a little weak, But she’s a bit better. I still feel so empty tho. And my cat and grandpa passed away in the same week. 💔 Update 5 months later: I am so much happier now. Things are getting easier. My mom is healthier, I got 2 new kittens, I have so many more friends, I don’t wanna die anymore, I still have anxiety but I’m learning how to control it, And I’m finally loving myself. Just remember it does get easier. 😊❤️

I spent much of my adolescence caring for my grandmother, Lydia, who passed away in 1993 - feeding her, changing her diapers, cleaning her, etc. Since then, I've cared for several loved ones in my adult life. Some of them died in hospice, while a couple got better to go on with their lives and not need my help anymore. I took the best care that I could of Lydia's son, my dad, Bill. Now, my mom is dying of cancer. I don't know if I'm going to see her again before the end. But thank you, Andra Day, for this amazing song! God bless. ❤️‍🩹❤️

This song is on my “FIGHT” playlist. I’m a single parent and I’ve been battling cancer for 5 years now. There’s no cure; only treatment including medication and surgery for removal of the cancer every 2-3 years. This is just one song that helps me keep fighting; to rise up 1,000 times again so I can be here for my kids.

These lyrics, combined with this video, hit me very close to home. I'm disabled. I was already disabled when I met my husband, though the doctors did not yet know what was wrong, what caused it, or if it was permanent. My husband and I had been dating for about a year when I learned the cause of my disability: the people who abused me when I was a child permanently injured my neurological system, and that is why, as my body got older, I became very painfully disabled. I also learned that I will never get better. In fact, my disability has gotten worse. I began speaking and writing openly about how child abuse can cause disability. My husband (still my boyfriend at the time) supported my choice, and helped me with the physical stuff I could no longer do. We took care of each other emotionally, but he took care of me physically too. He still does. At our wedding, he said I am a superhero, and he's proud to be a superhero's sidekick. About ten years into our relationship, my husband got really sick with anemia. The doctors felt sure he had internal bleeding but they could not find it. He got sicker and sicker, with terrible gut pains, and even worse anemia, till even doing the most basic tasks exhausted and even confused him. Still, he had to take care of me! We've had no choice. But I've taken care of him emotionally, through all his fears and exhaustion and pain and doubts. Finally, two years after he got sick, he's been diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and is getting the help he needs, though he still has a way to go... I'm writing all of this to say how close to home this video and song hit me! My husband and I, we rise up. And I speak out too, in hopes that others can rise up too.

in Jesus' name healing be upon you. Surrender to Him cry out pour out everything trust in Him. He is the same yesterday today and forever. I have witnessed also the miraculous power of the Lord Jesus Christ. One of my churchmates had leukemia. She was told that it wouldn't be cured at all but then she heard about the crusade for the Lord. Even though her body was frail but she was so desperate, just like the bleeding woman of the Bible, she was desperate for the Lord Jesus despite the challenges she still went. She attended the conference and she felt the power of the Holy Spirit touched her. Her countenance was restored she felt it. She returned to the doctor for another test and the doctor was very shocked because she was well. Even until now the Lord uses her in the prophetic ministry. The Lord Jesus is so powerful no sickness and no death can prevail. Godbless you always and you family.

Watch Sid Roth Its Supernatural and Dr. Michael Brown, they were also Jews and devout in Judaism but now a Christian the Lord saved them in a supernatural way. My dad is a quadriplegic, meaning he can’t walk and has very limited upper body mobility. Whenever he asks me to get him out of bed in the morning or change his pants because of an accident or help him shower I always have that selfish feeling of wishing I were doing something else. But, then I remember how despite his limitations he’s always been there for me when I need him. He’s been as good of a father as any man could be regardless of the shitty hand life has dealt him. For that, I owe him everything, and will never hesitate to help him get through the day. I love you, Dad.

I'm just a simple man without any fortune or fame, but I to have been blessed in life to have experienced 18 years of walking, and now 15 years of being in a wheelchair, and I can honestly say I don't regret a single day of my life and the obstacles I've encountered in my 33 years of life. I say that because I was never alone even though there were times I thought I was alone, I now can look back and see God was right there with me, so yes I use to regret things I done in life, but not anymore, for they made me stronger to face today. And through it all the one thing that helped me to keep rising up was Love, and believe me when I say this, when you find yourself in the full understanding of love, you'll never want nor need for anything, because you will see you already have everything you will ever need... And when it comes to being with someone, or loving others you will have no certain standards when it comes to their appearance, fame, fortunes, color, or disability, but you'll love them in a way that nothing in this world could ever show... Beautiful song, and yes it should be number 1 in my book, because it’s true we who love will truly rise up a bright and beautiful day soon… Always go and do things in love...

My husband nearly a year ago to the day found out he had kidney failure. From there it went downhill. Heart failure, heart attack, stroke, Quadruple bypass, vision loss, hospital dimensia, blood infection, toe amputation, panic attacks, anxiety, depression, and atrophy making him partially wheelchair dependent. And I have been by his side the whole time. My mother showed me this song and said it was my theme song. We are still piecing our lives back together, but we will rise up. A thousand times.

No matter what are you dealing right now, either it's a mental health, physical disabilities, finances, losing someone you love, even losing yourself, you will get through this too 💪🏻 I know it's easier said than done, but dear, look at the mirror. That person wanted you to keep going. keep your head held up high bestie ❤ you're not a mere survivor, but you're a warrior. Fighting the things, the other couldn't sees. Some days are fine, some aren't and it's okay, we are human afterall. You're not alone, see.. I am here with you. If you feel tired, take a pause, cry if you could. You're strong enough to cry ❤ then, keep walking, even it's just a crawl. Rise up for you, yourself. The only one that won't leave you, is you. Everyday is a gift. You wouldn't know who are you inspiring for showing your strength. You are matter ❤
