It was a great battle. It was like Godzilla vs. King Kong. How did you beat that crazy wood, Mr.Gruggs is a true man. And the DC53 steel and Eafengrow are very nice, and the good design of EF142 came through as well, it will be Eafengrow's masterpiece like EF131 and EF135, and I hope EF142 will become the next Eafengrow's masterpiece like EF131 and EF135. The best review ever! An hour of laughing my a$$ off. I remember my youth with my grandfather cutting Ceiba trees on Puerto Rico. Those trees were a challenge even using the sharpest axe available. 😄 And what my grandpa said to me… You weakling what’s wrong with you? 😆🤣🤣🤣 Oh I miss him! I think you get a piece of Ceiba tree without knowing it. 😃

Bought 8 of the big fixed blade Eafengrow's this last week( Still waiting for 2 , this being one of them ) and all but one...the screws were loose...they should buy a 55 gallon drum of blue loctite. The only one that was properly torqued was the really big boy EF-146. I always pull, blue loctite...and properly torque on all knives anyways...but some dont...if thats all I have to complain about...I keep buying them. !!!

That's some crazy knot/burl! I'm also curious what that wood is. I've never seen it before, looks very tough and fibrous. Watching you go after that piece reminded me of some knotty cedar that just wouldn't let go. Wouldn't surprise me to learn that this was a softer wood and not a hardwood as dry soft wood can be shockingly hard to cut, they like to squeeze and wedge your tools rather than split or throw chips when using an axe. I'm not familiar with it, but it seems pretty distinctive I'm sure someone who's familiar would recognize it right away

Lol I never baton hard wood. Here it is iron bark. I only baton pine to make kindling. Iron bark is best with the blunt force of the biggest maul you can find and then it takes a few whacks. Funny to watch and that knife copped a hammering. I see you prayed out loud to Jesus. He can part the Red Sea but he couldn’t part that wood huh?

Actually I say JoeX take a holiday on this one. That was a pretty good test on its toughness with not just the blade but the handle too. I bought an Ef131 based on this channel. It would have been easy to restart the video with some soft wood and make the knife look great but my hats off to you that you persevered with it and that’s what makes it an honest review. I put a lot of value in that. Realistically no one is going to fart-arse around splitting a nothing log for an hour with a knife in a normal circumstance. Some people get what JoeX does and some people don’t.
