They say not to take the trees down. It's their sourse of food sources. They will keep to the one tree until its completely sourced out of food. They then will make their home in the dead trees as well.

The woodpecker is eating the bugs in the tree. This means your tree is diseased, and the woodpecker is having a great meal.

That’s interesting to know! Thanks Norma.

Agreed, diseased or dying. Had a few at my brothers and the trees sadly had to come down. While the woodpecker is beautiful they sure do some damage and the tree may eventually become unstable and break. Great eye for catching that! Good luck!!

That's your man Jami ..... Dr. Google had this to say: When woodpeckers put all their focus on a single tree and begin aggressively feeding from it, this usually indicates illness in the tree or bug infestation problem. It sure is nice to see the pond so full - hopefully it's sealed itself and will stay that way. So good to see Jami without her mask and smiling - she is one incredibly strong woman.

Those eagles are circling for a reason... they're hungry.. please keep an extra eye on those precious babies. ❤ I thought for sure something had gotten killed by your video title, " "Eagle Attack". The horses sure looked beautiful out there grazing on the other side of the pond. It looked like a beautiful painting. Sorry i don't know why the woodpecker is eating the tree, but i bet several of your other viewers would know the answer. Hope you all have a good weekend.

It may still take several years for a woodpecker's attention to open a tree to enough damage to kill it. The smallest woodpeckers may even extend a tree's life by ridding it of pests, without great damage.

Wowser...there's the beautiful Jami! It's so fantastic to see or get a glimpse of Jami's face again. Ruby still loves to kinda roughhouse with Lester then give him a kiss! The eagles are beautiful to watch as they fly overhead at Longhorn Lester's Ranch while Tina roams around the property checking everything out. I imagine that the tree that the woodpecker is working on is loaded up bugs under the bark on the tree. Each one of the holes had either bugs or little worms in them. I really enjoy the videos you present to all of us Lester because you provide some information and enjoyment to all of us every day. Have a fantastic time at all of the properties! Love and prayers!

Lester if you put the panels up you can attach a sprinkler to the top of one of the Center posts and leave a short hose attached to it. Then you just hook another hose to that hose and you can water the whole garden. We did it that way all the time when we had a garden. It works great!

I just wanted to say I am happy to see Jami is starting to be a little more comfortable being on camera without her mask for short periods. She looks amazing and just as beautiful as always. From what I have heard about woodpeckers in my years, they peck holes to get to the bugs. They don't kill a tree, but the holes they peck can allow more pests into the tree and can possibly harm the tree, it is rare to actually have to remove a tree because of a woodpecker.

Seeing Jami's smile 😊 as she's sitting there on the greenhouse porch just made my day 🤗. That's one thing I have missed . Jami, I'm a stroke survivor from Easter Sunday April 8, 2008, myself. I understand the self consciousness you are feeling. I've been in Your shoes. I took my years of therapy, physical and mental, to accept my self. My husband and children accepted me all along. It took my mom telling me God did this (my stroke) for a reason. And I love you young lady i have since you were conceived. Now, you have to love yourself. I lost my mom to Pancreatic cancer in the fall of 2015. And I hear her words ringing in my ears every day when I look in the mirror and smile 🥰.

@littleredhen I am so sorry you lost your Mom. I lost both my Mom and Dad. It’s still hard for me to accept they are just memories for me now. I understand both yours and Jami’s feelings of being self conscious. I was in a pretty bad accident when I was 16. It left some visible scars in my face. I was so vulnerable with how I looked. I was lucky in a way because I had a fractured scull, a brain injury and many broken bones, including my jaw, just like Jami, so having to face anyone other but my immediate family at first, wasn’t an issue for me. Facing life outside the hospital was really hard on my 16 yr old psyche. I think we are all our worse enemies, as I think now looking back, I probably felt like an ugly freak more than any of my friends thought I was, lol. Many, many years have passed and I’m over any bad feelings about any scars. In fact, it’s rarely I even think about them or seem to notice them, even when I look in a mirror. Your Mom gave you the perfect advice though. No doubt she was a very special lady. I’m truly sorry she is no longer with you and I’m positive you have an amazing smile ....💕

Oh what a beautiful morning... It is very pretty there. Nice garden area. I'd adore to have some of that kale! When the kids I helped raise (sister and two of my cousins), were little they were intrigued with how dull green kale would instantly turn the prettiest bright blue green! I'd serve it buttered with lemon juice. And they would eat it up! Finances are tighter and tighter for us these days. We're older and I'm disabled, city dwellers. Not ever going to feel right being out of the country life. You kids are soooo blessed. So glad to see Jami running around doing so well now. We don't mind woodpeckers in our brick home...but growing up? Oh my! My daddy tried everything to keep the woodpeckers off the pecky cypress siding he put on our beautifully built home he designed. It looks as if the wp is working up a line of sap...sap can be sweet depending on the tree and season. What an exciting start to the day! I'm just now getting up!

Love eagles. We have both gold and bald eagles here in northeast Oregon. They are such majestic birds.

In Syracuse NY, we have tons of amazing Eagles living by our shopping mall that borders Onondaga Lake. They started appearing years ago because the water there is warm coming out of the treatment plant. They can eat there all winter/year. It's a real event as people gather each day to see them

Lester the Woody Woodpecker sound cracked me up 😂 You did a really good job 😂. It must be driving you both crazy not being able to figure out how Starla and Finn get out. It has to be somewhere along the drive way. You have the gate at the end and you always see them coming up the driveway a lot. Maybe they are going through the drain pipe and getting out somewhere on the horse pasture. If you haven’t done so look for tracks. Just a thought. Be safe ❤😊❤

When my nephew was 3 years old he would watch Woody Woodpecker and of course Aunt Kathy and Granny Elizabeth watched it with him. He called it Woodypecker.😂😂

I think when this video came out coming home from a doctors visit there was a bald eagle that was in the ditch then it flew right up in front of my car which i thought I was going to hit it on the highway with all the rest of the car's around me. There have been time's when I was so close to them in person. One came down at me going into my car at someone house and then coming home from work in the morning it was right in the middle of the road eating something besides fishing all the time. I love seeing them so much. Loved the woody sound Lester which it sound just like him. They would peck on the side of my mom's house with the real wood shingles all the time. Then my mom put up a fake one they never came back.

Lester you did a good imitation of Woody the Woodpecker. Several years years ago I had a woodpecker build a hole in the huge willlow in my in my backyard. Then they built a nest and soon they had baby’s. One afternoon after the eggs hatched, and soon in the middle of a beautiful afternoon with no breeze or clouds that section of that tree fell down suddenly. The tree section was covering both the upper and lower patio was covered with the tree,it tore down the electric to the house broke the patio table a small statue, the clay burning vessel, and the section holding the nest. The parents flew off and during the night something took all babies away. The tree guy asked me to come outside, and told me to look at my grass, and it was moving all over my backyard. He told me that when they took down the tree, earwig poured out of the tree and to put down insecticide so they wouldn’t come in my house. That tree might be infected with insects and could come down like mine. If you have a structure nearby, you might watch and consider trimming it back if nothing else. Good luck.
