Even though I was born in Grimsby and now live in Braitree my Heart belongs in the Borrowdale Valley area after falling in LOVE with the peace and quiet on my first #C2C crossing. Never visited the area prior to the Coast to Coast but wandered about the Pennines for inner contentment, but I find myself returning about once ever five years to regain the Memory of PURE Peace and Tranquility that is Borrowdale and especally Stonetwaite Campsite. My next visit is now being planned for next summer to recharge my internal battery of all the wonderfull sites and sounds of what I can only describe as Heaven in England. It could also prove to be my last visit as the legs are now refusing to work as and when I want them too, but I have many years or memories from previous visit to the end of my Lifetime. Thank you for sharing your travels in the area. Tony in Essex, a retired Rambler/Long Distance Hiker.

Great watch and a great route too, seems much more civilised than going up through the ferns to Sergeants Crag first, just to make it a round. I may do this tomorrow but I think I will go to the end of the valley to Lining Crag and head to the first summit from there. Thanks for the video, cheers Alan

Just catching up on some of your older video's Tracy. This looks quite a challenging route but you were well rewarded with some amazing scenery. Billy coped really well. A true mountain dog indeed! Well done to both of you.

Well Tracey you described Borrowdale as ' Jurassic' 🙂 perfect description 👌 the weather was a tad different from the Ashness Bridge vlog. what a glorious day! You said how being somewhere & thinking it would be nice just to stay there & enjoy that moment...yeah that's when you know ya found something/somewhere special! The views from Sargents Crag was sublime looking down the valley & surrounding hills. The style that you encountered is something that needs addressing as it's not at all 'dog friendly' 🐶🐕 think a re think is needed here??? Must have been tricky trying to entice Billy Bob down from there & it would have made for a situation if he had refused to go 🤔fortunately he did! another excellent walk with the 2 of ya & the filming is top notch 👌 👍

Thank you David I'm not sure what they could do as the wall is so high and the drop of the ground from the stile that side is very steep but the bar across the top platform doesn't help at all I'm afraid it means I won't be able to go back with Billy on my own again as he is 30 kilos and too heavy for me and its one of my favourite views up there and favourite valleys, weather was perfect, thanks again

Thanks for a brilliant video and a it gives a great showing of the valley track up to Lining Crag which ive never seen before in detail. Look amazing those waterfalls. I have to ascend Eagle Crag and Sergeant Crag as yet and that looks a good alternative from going straight up the nose 🙂

Cheers, gives me a good feel for doing Eagle Crag and Sergeant's from the Green up valley rather than the front face of Eagle. Will be staying in Langdale, so either planning to get bus around to Rothswaite and walk back to Langdale via the two crags or walk from Langdale/Stakes pass and end up doing the Crags.

@crispyshaw9204 I've recently uploaded a vlog of Eagle Crag over to long Crag towards High Raise and it shows the descent route off Sergeant's Crag over the stile ...I think this would be your route to Langdale ...I posted it about 2 weeks ago ....enjoy your time in the Lake District.

Hoping to do this walk this week, can you see the stile on Eagle Crag from Greenip Gill?
@Traceyattrill-Essexgirlinwild
@Traceyattrill-Essexgirlinwild Жыл бұрын
I'm afraid you cant see it, the best way to advise you is to head to the top of the Gill and when you get to the moraines ford the Gill and you will see a faint trod once through the marshy bit heading for the stile. There is also a stile other side of Sergents Crag to get you BCk to greenup Gill but I don't know the coordinates of it as I just shimmied inbetween a fence and a wall 😂 or you could carry on to Lining Crag and descend from there to Greenup Gill

Lovely film. I woukd love ro do this with my dog, where did you cross? Is there no visible path to Sargent Crag? Not entirely aure this route is that dog friendly tbh
@Traceyattrill-Essexgirlinwild
@Traceyattrill-Essexgirlinwild 11 ай бұрын
The route onto Eagle Crag was tricky with the super high stile and steep drop the other side , then a bit of a scramble on a rocky step which you would have to ascend and then descend on way to sergeants Crag. To descend off Sergeants Crag to access a stile you have to continue further on off far side to reach the stile much further up the valley. I had to scale the stone wall with a fence where I noticed it was loose to shimmy between the wall and fence so not ideal to do that . But if you continue to stile that would be better but further. I will try to find coordinates of the stile for you.

As promised I have asked a fellow walker about the stile at Sargeants Crag, apparently you descend on the south side towards High Raise and only go 200 yards and you will see a stile giving access over wall to gain Greenup Gill , you will have to ford the Gill so I'd do this walk after a dry spell ...enjoy x
